'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Get this message - Pack the Park!

With the Portsmouth Supporters Trust now been given the go ahead as preferred bidders for the club NOW is the time for the fans to show their support.

The club are expecting a sizeable crowd tomorrow for the visit of Shrewsbury Town to Fratton Park and are urging fans not to turn up ten minutes before the game and expect to walk in. By lunchtime today sales were only 10,500 and as usual the booths will be open selling tickets before the game. My advice is to get your ticket before you visit the pub rather than after or you could find yourself missing the first quarter of the game as others have recently.

So Pack the Park and show the world that maybe, just maybe Football is coming home!

The bid - what next?

The Trust on their own website issued a message that included -

The Pompey Supporters` Trust (PST) moved one step closer to receiving ownership of the city`s football club, following an announcement by the club`s administrators, PKF, that they are the preferred bidder.

The PST's core aim throughout the process has been to create Britain's largest community club and allow the fans to take control of the club's destiny, protecting the legacy for generations to come. Thanks to the fans, that have pledged their support in their thousands, this vision may now become a reality.

Ashley Brown, Chairman of the Pompey Supporters` Trust, added: "This is a pivotal moment in the history of Portsmouth Football Club, but also to the wider footballing world. I`d like to take this opportunity to thank the fans for their continued support of the bid and of the club throughout this process, and for believing in what a true community club can offer.

"Pompey has long been renowned as a pioneering club and this decision keeps that tradition alive. While we look to support this off the pitch, we encouraging fans to 'Pack the Park` this weekend and show Michael Appleton and his players the support they so rightly deserve on the pitch.

"There is a lot of work to be done, but the PST`s ethos is clear: run the club both transparently and honestly, with the fans at the heart of Portsmouth FC. The PST believes this new club model is the future of sustainable football ownership in The Football League."

The next stage will be the issuing of the final prospectus to all those who have signed up. When I get mine I will share it with you all.

Now get those tickets and Pack the Park!!
