Portco bid downplayed

You wait all these months for a bid to come in for Pompey and then like buses they all come along at once!

A fifth bidder has 'entered the frame' with an offer from 'UK based investment company' Portco coming in late on Wednesday evening...

Apparently proof of £6.45m has been offered but Portco, who are fronted by Harry Kerr and 'believed' to have Terry Pritchard involved - Pritchard from the Tom Lever failed bid in 2010 fame, are not (according to The News) a 'significant bidder' with their chances of completing a takeover 'downplayed' by a so-called 'insider'.

This insider source, again quoted in The News, said: 'The trust and Portpin very much remain the frontrunners.

'The trust and Portpin are making more progress and they are talking to the Football League. They are at an advanced stage in their business plans.'

Given that fact that extended time is constantly being granted by the administrators can you really say that anyone is 'way behind' other bids?

If proof of funding is provided, and a plan that is better suited to the creditors put forward, can anyone really be dismissed...

I ask myself though why so much 'interest' in Pompey all of a sudden though?

And also ask myself if Portco were genuinely interested why wait so long to make an interest known...

Now I thought the proof was of £6.47m!! Money is money and shirley TB is looking for the highest and the most sustainable bid. Nobody ruled in or out at the moment would be my bet.

OMag Dave ; who is Shirley TB? is it another bid ???? :-)

Portco-Plymco more like( thats our Coop down here) Portco, and Portpin, what ever next Port-able, Port-ly..all sounds like vultures circling to me to be fair.

I believe the renewed interest is because it looks like a parcel of the adjacent could be about to come available to the market.
RussellM
Russell, yes the Gaydamack land is up for sale for around 2.5M i've heard. Issue is it is useless unless tied to the club in someway. Avalon, made a pre tax profit of £66K i have also seen. So where has the 6.45M come from? More information needed before judgement could be made.

please let it end soon.
