Bassini bid

Bassini bid

Oh the joy!

Laurence Bassini, the former owner of Watford, had 'submitted a bid' to takeover at Pompey...

This, according to The News, was confirmed on Monday with a spokesman for the administrators PKF also confirming another bid has been put forward.

If a Watford viewpoint of the guy is not enough to put you off, and you do not have to look too hard to find many a 'glowing report' on him - a guys came into the forum recently and revealed plenty to make you shudder! - then a quick t'internet search yourself should do!

Although it would be fair to say that he would be very much in keeping with the norm of owners, and a fair few could have been owners, at Fratton in recent times really.

The News also said 'it is understood Balram Chainrai's Portpin and the Pompey Supporters' Trust are ahead of Mr Bassini's bid,' which is at least something I guess...

Betty Everett once sang - It's getting mighty crowded - and it sure is!! Not too sure how genuine Bassini is but it gives us plenty of choice IF they are all genuine bidders.

Which I doubt very much, Dave. I reckon they are all supporting each other behind the scenes, PST excepted.

So, Rug, is Channers better than Bassini? It's hard to believe but . . .

Anyone is better than Liquidation! If he could take us through this season and then sell us again, no problem for me.

Northampton (h) - Securing home advantage?

Some could view this as a 'dead rubber!' It isn't as Champions Northampton will want to end on a high and Pompey will want 'an advantage' against Plymouth in the play-offs. Right?

Pompey MotM at Hartlepool

Pompey went into the penultimate game with a slim chance of a top 3 finish. A 2-0 win at Hartlepool saw the Blues do what we needed but wins for others ended those chances.

An emergency loan arrival of a goalie has been ruled out by the Football League but this doesn't mean a free agent cannot be signed by Pompey should a suitable option be found?
