Pompey sign Slovak defender

Pompey sign Slovak defender

Pompey have just announced the signing of Slovakian defender Lubomir Michalik on a one-month deal. He will wear the number twenty shirt and is eligible to face Walsall tomorrow.

Michalik told the club's website "I`m very happy to be here," said Michalik. "I heard about Pompey`s interest in me and I didn`t have to think too long about coming here. I`ve never played at Fratton Park, so I`m looking forward to getting out onto the pitch and showing what I can do. Hopefully I can help the team to win a lot of games and keep some clean sheets - and if I score some goals then that is a nice extra."

Michalik moved to England from his homeland to sign for Bolton in January 2007 and since then has featured at both Leeds United and Carlisle.

Will this spell the end for Kevin Long's loan spell from Burnley as Appy looks to add a loan striker to his squad?

Worthy of a new deal?

So, Danny Rose, as we know, isn't going to play again this season. As things stand this would mean he'll not pull on a Pompey shirt again as his contract expires in the summer.
