'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Boring!

A 'deadline' loses all meaning, not to mention its very definition, when this keeps coming and going without any outcome at all!

Yet again Pompey are faced with another one of these poxy things after Trevor Birch decided to give 'interested bidders another 2-weeks' to finalise their takeover bids.

He deemed that neither Portpin or The PST's bid were 'ready' to be seriously considered as options to takeover at Fratton as he seeks to not only get us a new owner but also to get the best deal for the creditors...

To say 'its getting boring now' would be an understatement as this has long since been the case!

If neither bid is ready yet what is to say they will when his latest deadline arrives!! Does Birch then set another deadline!?

Something is not quite stacking up though is it?

In spite of constant deadlines Appy seems to be under the impression that funds are in place, with or without, a takeover to allow us to dish out fresh month-long contracts when September 6th arrives.

In fact it seems as though he feels we can get through until January - at least - with it also most likely that the players we currently have will remain with us until that point as they are unable to sign for another club until the New Year even if their rolling month-long contracts end, so it makes sense for them to continue to renew these each month.

The suggestion has even been made that Portsmouth football club has some £3m in the bank account, meaning we could 'probably' get through the season anyway, although the administrators must be eating away a hefty chunk of this...

Hey ho at least we have a game tomorrow and Appy has been able to strengthen his squad a little ahead of it!

agree....I have'nt seen us play this year (plymouth excepted, but that do'nt count)..but am left with an impression that a decent goal scoring Foreward is needed..and had hoped this jumble could have been sorted. I am not all together convinced about the PST alliance with a "Property Developer"..I do not know who he is or anything like that. . .but it sounds like the word "Vampire!"..but i actuality we will need one to develop the propert if the PST win.. I like the idea of buying gaydamaks land and partnering a supermarket and turning FP around and keeping the Tudor frontage.. I am meeting with Pompey fans in PLYMOUTH on TUESDAY at the MILLBRIDGE PUB to watch the ACFB game and plan travel for some games this season..so if any of you out there are local to that lease join us.

Considering the amount of money in fees that Birch and his crowd are sucking out of the club at the moment, I get the distinct feeling that he is no particular hurry to resolve this mess at all!

It would have concentrated the mind of Admin Trev if there had been a fixed fee for their services instead of this rolling bill - who knows how much the final fee will be? Jeez!
Et_tu_Pompeii
Agree the fees stacking up is a major concern BUT TB must make the right decision for the future of the club. There can be no more slipping into Admin!

They were ready before but now they apparently arent TB is extracting those fees as long as he can in order to get the best settlement deal for his company. He knows he has an arrangement with Portpin he might force a better severance deal if the Trust gets a stronger hand. First transfer window in 3 years I've been completely relaxed; if not pleasentlt surprised about.
