Kranjcar Info/Video- Looks Good!

Kranjcar Info/Video- Looks Good!

Nicola Kranjcar is six foot one and is set to sign for Portsmouth. There seems to be some confusion where he actually plays but Pompey will have signed another midfielder!

He is twenty-two years old and sky sports have reported previously that he would sign for Celta, that deal fell through however. Wigan where also supposed to be interested in the Hajduk Split midfielder.

Below is "JadrenSport`s" view on the player

Twenty-one year old Niko (Nicola) Kranjcar is rightfully recognized as one of the greatest Croatian talents that emerged after the end of Former Yugoslavia.

For five seasons, how long his career is ongoing, Kranjcar has made an impressive performance in the ranks of both 1.HNL giants, Dinamo and Hajduk. Great passes, fine technique and some fierce shooting abilities, quickly turned Kranjcar from a ''kid with great potential'' to Dinamo Zagreb's leading star, as soon as in 2001 when he was just a 16-year-old teenager.

The player is used to the spotlight, Hajduk Split is one of the top clubs in Croatia and there ground holds 35,000 people. They won the legue in 2004/2005 season, which was Kranjcar`s first season at the club.

Kranjcar Carrer

Niko Kranjcar was born August 13, 1984 in Vienna, Austria.

Kranjčar has been part of the Croatian national Under-16, -17, -19 and -21 teams before advancing to the national team of which he is currently part of.

His manager has said, 'Kranjcar has a great feeling for the ball and great understanding of the game. Few players in the world have that virtue'.

Kranjcar spent most of his youth playing for Dinamo Zagreb, later as a captain, but then in early 2005, after a disagreement with the management, made a surprise transfer to Dinamo's biggest rival, Hajduk.

His transfer was probably the biggest sport news of the year in Croatia. Niko was chosen for 'Young gun firing for World Cup glory' along with some of the greatest talents in the world such as Leo Messi, Lukas Podolski and Muntari.

In August 2006 Kranjcar has been linked with a move to Rennes for 2.5 million pounds, Hajduk has rejected that offer and now Portsmouth will complete a deal for the player (3.5 million)

The player has scored 30 goals from 124 appearnces from midfield

He has made 24 apearnces for Croatia scoring 3 goals

Kranjcar is right-footed, but plays equally well with his left foot. He was a leftsided midfielder in his previous club.
