PST bid submitted

Plans for the fans owning Portsmouth football club are not done yet.

The PST's bid for the fans to gain control of Pompey are not over, despite the decision of Balram Chainrai to revive his own interest.

Chainrai did so after 'many discussions with the related parties, including amongst others, the administrator, the Football League, the PFA, and officials from Portsmouth City Council' saw them ask him to have a re-think about opting not to takeover again - most of those 'claimed' to have done this have apparently denied such suggestions...

As I would imagine most now know 'revised bids' for the club where needed, both parties have now submitted these with them under consideration by the administrators.

A brief statement of The PST website (here) this morning read...

Pompey Supporters' Trust submitted its bid to buy Portsmouth Football Club on Friday.

The document, which has been in preparation for five months by the Trust bid team, will now be considered by Administrator Trevor Birch.

The finishing touches to the bid were finalised during Friday, after the PST executive board unanimously backed a motion on Thursday night authorising the bid team to proceed with the deal.

I just hope that this bid can prove successful as the clubs best interests, in a long-term sense, are - and of course I have to add 'in my opinion' - best served in a fans run model.

Best of luck to the PST - Let's hope their bid is better than BC's and that Birch makes the decision that it is the best option for the creditors... as that is how it will be decided .. remember they (PFK and therefore TB) are court appointed so that has to be their key objective.

totally, birch is appointed for that sole intention - the best deal for the creditors, as it stood the PST were not only offering the creditors the better deal but also offered the club the best chance of survival :-)

Quite frankly I don't want either to run us, i'd far prefer a third more credible choice but as that isn't on the cards, looks like i'm lumbered with one of these two poor options. But on the positive side at least we'll have a club for a few months longer...
