*Andy Cole Signs- Two Year Deal*

Andy Cole has now completed a move to Pompey.

Cole told the club website; "It's an opportunity for me to play for another two years and I hope to do my best for Portsmouth, score a few goals and get the club into the top 10 which is what they're aiming to do this season.

"The Portsmouth fans are electric and I know Jamo (David James), I know Sol and I've played with David Thompson as well which is always important when you come to a new club because you can fit in straight away.

"I know the club are trying to push forward, buying players and trying to start something new and I want to be a part of that."

Cole with his proven prem pedigree could turn out to be far better than an expensive gamble on an untried player. As has been pointed out before, all three of our fit strikers have played well so there is sure to be healthy competition for places.

i had hoped that he would be a toddy, but a redkapp signing at 35K per week he'll have to be near enough an automatic 1st team striker. Not sure how that will sit with the team but as Tantona said competition for places and when we think about last season how many of us were saying in another team Lua Lua's profligacy might cost him a place

I think it's a decent signing. Don't think it's any coincidence that Man City slumped after February last season without him in the team. He's a very intelligent player in his old age, and still turns on a sixpence.

pedalo this is true, and of course once he puts that shirt on we must get behind him full stop. But mirror boy has a good point even though we have an old ground & no facilities we are supposed to have the top uk scout, and a massive euro network. Villa have just put a 6m bid in for saviola, these clubs are making statements, campbell & maybe fernandes LoL ...whilst we are in the Selfridges league we dont know the way out of pound stretcher....so to speak

u can sometimes get some bargains at pound stretcer but once in a while you want to be going to selfridges and john lewis and picking up that overpriced masterpiece.
