Appiah Deal Off

Appiah Deal Off

Portsmouth have been trying to bring Ghana captain, Appiah.

Portsmouth had almost agreed a fee but the minor details had taken too long to complete and Fenerbahce have now cancelled the deal. They have claimed that there isn`t enough time to find a replacement.

Appiah said; 'I have to concentrate now on getting victories for Fenerbahce as the deal with Portsmouth is completely off for now.

'If the guys from Portsmouth had improved on their initial fee for my transfer a deal could have been done long ago.

'But at this last minute selling me without a proper replacement will be difficult for Fenerbahce giving my contribution to the team.

'I am grateful to Portsmouth to the interest they have shown in my ability especially coach Harry Redknapp,' Appiah said.

see guys told you , pompey trying to do it on the cheap AGAIN, clubs are getting fed up with us leading them on and trying to unsettle players through the media and then after all that failing to come up with the money. I was chatting to a celtic guy last night and he says that club would have sold to Accrington stanley for half the fee than allow him to come to us. he also says (ive no back up for his statement) There is more than one FA threat complaint against us. If we want to regarded with respect then our proffesionalism on the field needs to be matched by that off it. That'll be my final rant for today

January is good. Why rush a deal, it makes sense to be patient. We've done it too often in past, Last Day... Must sign, and god we have signed some donkeys that way...

Russellm, why do you say told you club trying to do it on the cheap, how do you know what they wanted for him??? We have a value of players and will pay that, if they want more tough, do you pay more for things than you want to??? Get behind the team this is the most exciting time for Pompey fans in recent memory!

we agreed a $20million fee for appiah but we couldnt sort out the little niggles in the offer that they wanted. i think it could happen in january, fenerbahce have plenty of time to find someone now. my only worry is that other prem teams with barge little pompey away and steal him from us. and terence, id be suprised if appiah would be a donkey... unless of course hes hung like one. LOL
