Lua Lua Petition- Premier League

Lua Lua has been told he cannot where his son`s initials on the back of his shirt next season. The premier league has refused this request;

"I am gutted. This season is for Jesus and I thought it would be a nice way of helping his memory live on.

"I asked the club to contact the Premier League.

"The secretary came back and told me they would not allow me to have my son`s initial on the back of my shirt.

"I could not believe it. I did not want his whole name on the shirt — just his initial and I do not
see what harm that would do.

"I am still struggling to come to terms with losing Jesus and have not even been able to bring myself to visit his grave.

"My family keep on telling me I should throw all his toys away but I cannot do it.'

I have an email address of someone high up at the Premier League, after I did some work for them. Send me your emails pleading with them to allow Lua Lua to wear his sons initials on the back of his shirt and I will send them to the Premier League.

I know this is a different example, and it is still the players name but the Premier Legaue recently allowed Blackburn's Morten Gamst Pedersen to now display "Gamst" as opposed to "Pedersen" on his shirt at his request. Has something to do with Gamst being his mothers maiden name. Let LuaLua show his tribute, what harm will it do...

Sent a very long and graphic e-mail expressing my disgust!

He just should have done until he waas told not to. He could have blamed itas a spelling error. The old boys don't like too much change or starting things that will grow out of control.

IN THE NAME OF JESUS WHY CAN THEY REFUSE....
pompeygray
Seems a completely harmless and honourable request, what possible problem could they have with it? Come on Premier League admin types (or whoever is making this bizarre refusal), show some professionalism and let the man make the change for a season - it's not like people who already have 'Lua Lua' on the back of their shirts are going to complain (being all to aware of Lomana's loss).

good point pompeygray!
Westov
Seems very petty by the Premierleague and no common sense has been used.
Tierney
I think it is awfull. I can see why they are saying no, because everyone will want to personalise their shirts if Lu Lu is aloud but this is an exceptional case.
POMPEYMEV
Yep, their official line is clearly that Pompeymev, they're justifiably concerned that others will pile onto the bandwagon...I agree that there's plenty of reason that they could have made a one off exception for Lomana though.
