'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Stalemate continues

Tal Ben-Haim and Trevor Birch continue to play out a very public spat with the blame game placed at each others feet. TBH leaving 'seemed' on, perhaps not.

At the weekend Tal Ben-Haim seemed to 'hint' that he was leaving, and his suggestion was that it would be by today, or on this day?

He also said that 'he could not say too much', and as yet has gone nowhere...

In the days between, culminating in events today, a 'war of words' between TBH and administrator Trevor Birch has continued as it has between him and the administrator for some weeks, as it did the previous administrator Admin Andy, who now incredibly 'advises' him!

The 'blame game' has been placed at the feet of each of them by one another with TBH releasing a statement today putting across what he says is his side of things.

Again he insists that he does not want the club to be liquidated but also wants as much money back as he can (fair enough in many ways whatever we might think!) having already lost so much?

A 'mere' £300,000 is the stumbling block preventing him from leaving but even a 'small amount' such as that is still a massive amount for a club like us in our situation...

TBH continues to feel that liquidation will not happen whereas TB tells us it will and the pair continue to play a game of 'chicken' with each other with neither wanting to be the first to flinch.

Continuing to play things out in the media like both have has done little to help anyone really has it?

Should we be liquidated at the end of the week TBH, who as I say continues to feel this will not be the case and the administrators have done little to help with the situation we are faced with, says that 'the blood will be on' the administrators hands...

Lets just see what Friday does bring eh!

If no agreement is reached with TBH and he refuses to compromise on what is offered to him then 'if' we aren't liquidated then questions maybe do need to be asked of TB as the continued threat, yet inability of this to materialise, has been playing with the emotions of too many people for too long.

Whilst I of course do not want us to be liquidated in many ways Friday cannot come soon enough as this is the day when we 'should' know one way or the other what is going on with Portsmouth Football Club, although you cannot help but think there will be more twist and what price another deadline is then set and this nightmare continues...

The thing is that the club have been trying to offload TBH and his wages for a couple of years - SC wasn't allowed to play him for half a season as they tried to get him to move on ... that's all he had to do, move clubs. Footballers do it all the time, but not TBH, he has to stay, leeching and holding a gun to the head of the true fans with Pompey running through their blood, who don't deserve to be heartbroken by their club being liquidated. People who could never imagine earning footballers money, but who work hard day in day out, and look to their football for some respite from the trials of everyday life (remember when that was the case?). Why does TBH not understand that if the club is liquidated he gets nothing? Why does he think it won't happen, when it has already happened to a much bigger club in the UK already this summer. TBH £300K is peanuts to you - do the right thing for once in your life and don't slam the door on your way out . . .

14 million in parachute payment might be the reason. if he goes now Chanrai will get this if the club gets liquidated no-one get anything tbh just want his cut

If he doesn't bugger off, his share of the 'cut' will be precisely nothing! The saddest of all is that if we do survive at the eleventh hour due to intransigence from people like him, Appleton will have little or no time to sign players up and get a team togerther to survive in Division 1. I don't suppose this selfish piece of work cares about that does he? One more thing he needs to realise, NODOBY WANTS HIM ON THE SALARY HE IS ON, THAT'S WHY NOBODY HAS SERIOUSLY BEEN IN FOR HIM. So, does that mean he is not confident of any club coming in for him, that's why he wants every penny out of Pompey or is he just plain greedy? Time for a reality check Tal. Have you seen the economic climate out there, or do you think you are that good that it won't affect you? Also whilst I am having a rant, Mr Birch, do you have any negotiating skills whatsoever or do you do all your business via the sports pages of the News?
