'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Viking departs

Salvation has moved a little bit closer with Erik Huseklepp becoming the latest to join the Pompey exodus.

He has left to return to Norway, signing a 4-½-year contract with former club Brann.

As with most deals these days no specifics of it have been revealed although the complex transfer shifting of money between various clubs must have seen a suitable outcome reached...

Good luck to The Viking, he scored some blinders and had some good moments but I cannot help but thinking he was not quite cut out for English football so this move is best for all - of course it was a MUST for Pompey to have a chance of survival!

Still, shifting Tal Ben-Haim and Kanu is going to be our biggest problem but, apparently, we are 'a mere' £250,000 from agreeing a deal with TBH at least...

Blimey, we might just do it.

Kitson will take a pay cut, as no one wants him. He won't be the only one to keep us on hold. Lawrence may go to Cardiff, but only at the last minute. Or perhaps, he'll remain at Pompey with a massive pay cut, which is unlikely, isn't it?

Surely if we received transfers fees for Varney and Norris, which I understand were about £500,000 for the pair of them, why can't we use that to pay Ben-Haim. I know that probably others are entitled to first dibs on that money, but if we can get shot of him then that will give others more chance to get there money from a continued going concern.

We owed Varney's money to Derby, not sure on the Chuck situation.

Massive pay cuts for Kitson and Lawrence!!? They are both on close to £20k a week! Unlikely but who knows eh now the ball is gathering speed. Good luck to Erik back in Norway too.
