Halford continues the exodus joining Forest

The exodus of players that Pompey not only want - ok, perhaps not necessarily want in some instances - but need has continued with Greg Halford the latest confirmed as exiting the club.

He joins Chuck, who saw his move to Leeds 100% confirmed this afternoon, in exiting Fratton today.

No details of his move to Forest have been announced apart from the fact that he has left, having had two years left on his contract.

With money, by all accounts, still owing to Wolves you would at least hope, if not expect, that the bill to them has been settled - in an ideal world we have received a bit of cash too, although the priority of getting another decent earner off the wage bill has been achieved!

Halford has been good for us, on and off the pitch, but needs must when the devil drives and I am happy - if that is the right choice of words - to see him go, as I am Chuck, but of course wish the pair well in their future careers and thank them for what they did for us.

Gradually we are getting to where we need to be, although we still know we have some way to go before the liquidation fears can be put to bed...

Id say thanks to Greg and Chuck, caught up in a bad situation, but always seemed to me to give 100%. Good luck PUP!!!!!

I agree; these are good players and, it turns out, decent people, too. Good luck to them both. They're joining decent teams so they have a good chance of success. They have both etched a few lines into Pompey's recent past - it's now the future we have to sort out.
