Phoenix rising?!

The reality that Pompey could go out of business is getting more likely.

Without a doubt with each day that passes without a resolution to the problems this club has (if there is a resolution really?) the likelihood that this will become the final outcome increases...

To all intent and purpose my feelings are that Portsmouth Football Club died some years back anyway really! The club name remains, Fratton Park (just about!) and most importantly of all the fans (although even a decent number of genuine fans have been driven away to be fair) but other than that we are left with just a shell!

Even so surely very few can hand on heart say that they genuinely do want us to be liquidated?

Alas, should this happen - and can be the only way for us to end our tortuous nightmare - what would your thoughts be on a 'Phoenix' club rising from the ashes?

With, as said, the likelihood of PFC as we know it ceasing to exist in a little over 2-weeks time this is something that Pompeytim is looking to gather views and opinions on in the forum.

The situation Pompey is in is breaking my heart, the thought of no Pompey next season is almost unimaginable, but as Pompeyrug said the club probably died a couple of years ago if not when Milan left or that's when it recieved the fatal wound. Would I go to watch Pompey plan B, I do not know, what would happen to FP were would they play if the ground went. I look north and see Aldershot and how they have grown since thier demise and that gives me some hope, so may I would go, I will always be Pompey.

The plan to form a phoenix club is in place and will spring into life should the existing club fail. It has to be done within 30 days to keep the history. This plan has been ready for over two years!!

Can you enlighten me a little more on that Dave. There's lots of hot air floating around in the ether. It would be nice to have something solid to fall back on...

Its breaking my heart too, I sometimes think this cannot happen, but it is happening and the signs are it will. Will I support the pheonix club? Most probably quite fervently, but there might be a period of sulking first. One thing I want enlightening on though, is if liquidation takes place on Aug 10 - thats only a week before the season starts - it would certainly take 30 days to get the new club up and running, but how does that work with fitting the newco club into the fixture list of whatever league we end up in?
