Futàcs flies off to the Foxes
Màrkò the Mighty Magyar has decided to reject the Pompey offer of a reduced contract and after a rather drawn out process has joined Leicester City reportedly on a three year deal.
The delay was due to discussions over a compensation package with Trevor Birch trying to squeeze every penny he could out of the Foxes. Compensation was due of course because Marko is just twenty two.
There is no real surprise to fans but it is a shame as Appy had Màrkò pencilled in as a man to shake up League One defences.
He is far from the finished article however but certainly has potential but a still lot to learn about the English game.
Futàcs played thirty games for Pompey netting five goals - most of those appearances came as a substitute. His first goal came against Leicester in a live game on Sky last New Year's Eve - surprising how many players do that.
He was not however one of the big earners the club are so desperate to offload to enable the club to operate on a break even basis and allow a possible purchase deal to go ahead and the club to exit administration.
We await the departure of Reg Varney, Chuck Norris et al to allow the process of starting season 2012/13 to eventually commence.
