Mullins and Cotterill make exits

Mullins and Cotterill make exits

Different clubs, and for differing reasons, but both Hayden Mullins and Steve Cotterill both officially fall into the 'former Pompey' bracket now...

Cotterill left Pompey last season to become the new Forest manager but following a takeover at The City Ground he has been sacked, something that does not surprise me in the least to be honest.

But hey, that is not something that troubles us - I thought I would get a little something in about this though - what does is the status of more recent personalities at Fratton.

The anticipated departure of Mullins has come with The Pompey Site confirming his departure to Birmingham this afternoon.

A two-year contract has been signed by Mullins at St Andrews - who whilst not always a favourite of mine personally, or a crowd favourite in many ways, he did grow on me and his status among the fans also grew in recent years - and he leaves with my best wishes.

If Mullins, who will of course get his deferred payments, has indeed agreed to a compromise to allow him to move on that helps Pompey have more of a chance to live on then my respect for him has grown, if only others would follow his lead mentioning no names...

Cookie pleased with Bournemouth showing

You cannot always gage too much from pre-season can you. Although the game with Bournemouth tends to again show Pompey have goals in us this season...but we'll concede them too?

Pompey and Bournemouth play out 3-3 draw

Those who turned up in the Fratton sunshine for Alan McLoughlin's benefit match with Bournemouth would view it as an afternoon well spent with it value for money.
