We have a keeper!

We have a keeper!

Well, at least it 'appears' we have a trialist waiting to link up with us for pre-season training...

Sky sports has Slovenia keeper Darjan Curanovic quoted as telling Slovenian paper Ekipa: 'my dreams came true. I'm heading to England on 14th July and two days later I will travel with my new team-mates to Spain.

'I just can't hide my happiness.'

Quite clearly this 'link up' would be on a trial basis but it is nice to hear a player wants to play for us and not the money!

Until this is confirmed by Pompey it is also 'rumour' but I would imagine there is a decent chance that a trial will be undertook during pre-season...

PLAY UP POMPEY!

Yeh can't see him being our number 1 keeper, but he might have to be if we can't get anyone else in soon. On the brights side, atleast we don't have to stick Halford in goal!

Welcome to the guy, but to be honest there must be a couple of keepers knocking around the Pompey Leagues who are better than him?

Yep you're right Rug, it's only for a trial which Appy has confirmed today, From The News 'Michael Appleton has dismissed reports Darjan Curanovic is to sign for Pompey. Instead the 26-year-old keeper is to arrive at Fratton Park for a trial as the Blues run the rule over him before deciding whether to pursue their interest.' Appy said '‘It is true Curanovic is coming over here. But it is for a trial. We have not signed him, it is wrong to say that.’

Vital View - League 2, 25th-26th March 2017

With Doncaster and Plymouth yet to play Portsmouth took advantage to close the gap and extend it on the chasing pack. Newport & Leyton Orient look likely to be relegated.

With Stevenage drawing and Blackpool the only potential challenger winning we've got a six point cushion on Boro that's effectively seven given our superior goal difference.
