'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Squad numbers increase!

The Pompey squad has been boosted by three, with a trio of local youngsters signing professional contract with the club.

Isle of Wight three George Colson, Elliot Wheeler and Dan Butler have graduated through the academy to sign 1-year contracts.

Technically, whilst 1st team professionals now, they will initially form part of the 'development squad' that we are going to be having this season, which is growing in numbers now, to 'hopefully' one day be part of the 1st team proper!

It is always good to have youngsters deemed good enough to earn professional status, even more so when they are local lads too with it even better that they actually do have a chance - given this development squad we are now going to have - and are not released right away.

Lets keep a lookout for them but not expect too much too soon, that said depending on how this summer goes they 'might' be part of it sooner rather than later!

Speaking of arrivals, although it is somewhat surprising given our current status, 'word on the street' has it that Izale McLeod is a 'done deal?'

So the former Barnet striker will officially be a Pompey player from July 1st...

Great news for the kids and the club. Good luck lads in the new development squad and hopefully they can find you some competitive games.
