After all the clubs been through over the last 40 years the answer to the question is yes it could be worse and frequently has been.

I realise that but it doesn't do any harm to remember how far we have come. I still expect Harry to come up with a signing or two to stun the football world. Mind you i'm an optomist until we get the first defeat of the season, my optomism is lasting a little longer this year. lol

I have to agree, I think there still may be 1 or 2 more signings to come and if honest I think we need them. I think there's a lot of smoke screening going on and adding to the press speculation we are being led to believe we are interested in about 40M worth of talent.

I think either Muntari or Petrov will sign just before the window closes if we stand our ground. Still need a left back and a striker and probably a centre half to go with that. Koroman will hopefully get chance to show what he can do this season. I thought he showed promise last season in the little bit i saw of him.

We should get Muntari, screw Juventus he wants to come to us, give them the asking price, we are desperate!!!!!!!!!!

Things could definately be worse, we could be scum, lol!!! Nah, seriously things could be far worse than they are. Although I'd like more to arrive, and if we want to finish in the top half we probably need to sign a couple more players, but I'd have settled for Johnson, James, Campbell, Thompson and Kanu around Christmas time...

Surely we shouldn't be saying we are desperate just yet?

still got a week left and a manager called redknapp so in a few days time things could be worse. in answer to the first posting, the explanation murph is that it is due to a lack of positive recent history, a lack of euro football, a lack of reasonable training facilities, and a stadium thats loved and respected only by us. Our club is famous for its fans and instability in the same measure. If we put up a good show ( i think mid table -ish)around christmass time i think things will move a bit more in our favour.

We going for players beyond what we have done in the past. We ain't as attractive to others as we would think. Need to spend 10-15m on a player for then to take us seriously. Harry go & get Defoe.

Looking at our position in the prem and the players we have in our squad, i'd say we've not been in a better position since 1949/50. Until we are an established mid table side with decent training ground we'll struggle to sign the 'BIG' players.
