West Brom in for Magri?

Technically West Brom do not have a manager for next season, what with Roy Hodgson taking over as England manager shortly, but this has not stopped The Star from 'claiming' that they are trying to sign Sam Magri...

This snippet from the paper today says: 'West Brom want to take advantage of Portsmouth's dire financial situation by signing defender Sam Magri, 18, for £400,000.'

Magri, and the like, are players that we need to be our future but given the situation we are in we are hardly in a position to turn down anything are we.

So, if there is any truth to this - as much as I would love us to keep the kid - then £400,000 is a no-brainer and would need to be accepted...

Put it this way that fee would be almost as much as we received from Leeds for Jason Pearce!

I have little doubt that clubs at a higher level are interested in Magri but I am not convinced that £400,000 is a fee that would be paid for him, but you never know...
