'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sol and Signings

Harry Redknapp has told Sol Campbell that the fact the showers where not working, 'is part of the attraction of being here.'

Redknapp said, 'We've had them all at our training ground - Paul Merson, Teddy Sheringham and Patrik Berger. They have all been used to the best but this is Portsmouth and they just got on with it.

'They've roughed it but that is part of the attraction of being here, I think. I said to Sol that if Bobby Moore could sit in a dug-out at Oxford City where he was manager then we can all do it.

'Fans can't believe we've brought players of his quality after the load of crap that was brought in last pre-season.

'The team I took over here (last December) was a problem. Anyone who has followed this club will tell you it wasn't a good team. We performed a miracle scraping out of relegation, didn't we?'

Harry has signed some top players since then. He looks set to miss out on both Martins (quoted as saying he wants to go to Newcastle, although the club have yet to agree a fee) and Anelka to Bolton(quoted as saying he wants to go to Bolton and the club have made an offer.)

Portsmouth owner 'Sacha' is working on the Anelka deal, while Peter Storrie works on the Martins deal. Milan is trying to get Petrov as Redknapp is working on a deal for Muntari and Korroman.

Despite Portsmouth saying that Muntari cost too much, Vital Pompey understands that the club expect to sign Muntari and Korroman this week.

Great news if true, thought Korroman was quite good but can't be happy with being a cast off that we now have chnged our minds on. How good is the source of this stuff?

hope sol manages to stay fit. anyone else prefer not to have dejan start as centre back?
pompeyben
Me! I wanted big Linvoy to get his chance from the start of the season for a change, and as expected he's done well. Nothing against Dejan at all, just think Linvoy should be picked over him at centre at the moment.
Tantona
Interesting times ahead before the window shuts! We can rule out Martins, storrie couldn't close his back door nevermind a deal for a player like martins. It's Huntelaar that we should be going for

Sky sports news are running the story a lot. They think we might pinch him quote from skysports "It is now believed that Martins is seriously considering making the move to Fratton Park rather than St James' Park." and i just love it when i see this.... "While Newcastle can offer Martins big wages, they cannot live with the new found financial power of Pompey - who are now bankrolled by Alexandre Gaydamak." Get him signed arry!

Did you sneak Teddy Sheringham (He played quite a few seasons against Tony Adams) missed that but part of the attraction of coming here, ******* hell 40k per week with hard labour. Play Up, again, Newcastle have a 50k capacity stadium with the latest medical facilities etc etc. Sorry Portsmouth but it sounds like you have a barn in comparison.
TeddyLyon
yes but Teddy its not in the north of England. Which is a BIG plus lol its not half as cold

Personally i really rate this kid. He is very young too well worth the funds get him in!
Play Up Pompey
Imagine Benjani and martins up front with lualua and kanu as back up... What a striker force.
Play Up Pompey
it would be yes, can we attract martins to the club though
lmatthews
Is Martins young though? he is rumoured to be about 26!
pompeyben
no he is 21

Korroman will give us width & another midfiel/forward option. On what little I saw last season, he seemed ok & I'm glad we can give another go.
storagematt
Good to see Koroman back, though won't he be competing with Thompson for the subs bench ????

Did you see that Linvoy got in the FA team on the week Tantona?
