Scapuzzi has role to play? No, he's back with City

Just this morning Appy was quoted in The News as saying 'Luca Scapuzzi still had a big role to play in our survival bid...'

Fast forward a few hours and it has been confirmed that Luca Scapuzzi has returned to City!

Just a few minutes as a sub are all that we have seen of the 21-year-old midfielder and it would appear that he and/or City have decided that he would be better off back with them than warming our bench and training with us.

The Pompey Site confirmed his departure with the following statement...

Scapuzzi returns to Manchester City

Luca Scapuzzi has returned to Manchester City.

The 21-year-old midfielder joined Pompey on loan alongside Karim Rekik last month, but made just two fleeting appearances from the bench against Coventry and Burnley.

Blues boss Michael Appleton said: "He's a little bit frustrated because he's not made as many appearances as he would have liked.

"But we wish him all the best for the future back at Manchester City."

Hey ho, in many ways you cannot blame him, or City if it was their call, for him going back as he has barely had a sniff.

This return would suggest that he was not going to start this weekend either, or you would have thought he would have stayed?

The games with Coventry & Burnley weren't the best to come into. No doubt if the lad has talent it will shine another day for someone else.
