DeMan Dejan (7)

DeMan Dejan (7)

Dejan Stefanovic played out of position at left back against Blackburn. I thought defensively he was quite solid and prevented many crosses from the Blackburn wingers.

Sitting where I do, I was able to see that he held the line brilliantly, staying level with the other three. Considering that left back isn`t his preferred role, I didn`t think he did a lot wrong.

I want to thank who ever has spoken to him about pumping the ball long! It was so much better watching him PASS the ball to the midfield rather than launching it over them.

I don`t want to criticise him after such a fantastic win but he does need to communicate better. Sol Campbell and Gary O`Neil (appeared) to be doing the most encouraging.

Next Match- Presuming we don`t sign a left midfielder he should play left back. Being so defensive may help us away from home.

It wasn't Dejan's best game, but considering he was out on the left he did very well indeed. I'm really encouraged by the look of our backline/keeper and how well they've gelled in such a short time.

If we get Petrov or Barry, Dejan will be on the bench.

I'll agree with storagematt, if we get a left sided mifielder or defender he'll be out the team. I can see Sol (then captain) and Linvoy forming a great partnership

Played very well in a position he hasn't played in a while, good work Dejan!

Pompey seem to have created a much stronger defence. If only we can sign another decent striker we would definitely be more formidable and would be looking at top half finish.

I loved his lying on the ball committment when it seemed so sure Blackburn would tap the ball in. Yes it will be interesting if Primus and Dejan have to fight for the same central defensive position.... I still think Harry would plump for Dejan even though Primus played so well there.

Laying on the ball like that and taking a kick for his trouble shows true commitment to the team.

I was well impressed with us defensivley on saturday, its rare i bad mouth my team but, lets face it, we have been pretty damn shakey in the past! maybe a certain Mr Adams has had a bit of imput! Totally agree with you Pompeygray, lets get that "special" striker & look out the rest of the league!!!
