Linvoy Magic (9)

Linvoy Magic (9)

Linvoy Magic (9)

Linvoy Primus normally has to wait at least another month before playing his first game, not this year. He got his first game of the season under his belt and what a performance.

From the start he let nothing past him, being both solid in the air and on the deck, winning the ball in most 50/50 challenges. Linvoy was not only reliable but steady. Blackburn`s front two didn`t really cause Linvoy a problem.

I also saw an improvement in Linvoy`s game, (Tony Adams maybe?) he attacked the ball more being more physical than in the past. I thought he worked well with Sol Campbell and I can see that being a good partnership in the months to come. (Stick with these two Harry)

Next match: One of the first names on the sheet for me! Even if we sign a left midfielder (enabling Dejan to tuck back in), Linvoy should keep his position in the heart of our defence.

Certainly looked like he benefitted from partnering Sol in the centre, and I'm delighted that he hasn't suffered his normal spell on the bench at the start of the season. Keep up the good work fella!

Yes excellent, now we know that he can start a season well, great understanding with Sol - they felt confident together...

Linvoy did well but I think a 9 is perhaps a bit flattering. I do agree though, he really did benefit from the brilliance of Sol Campbell

8 probably. Sol helped him settle.

I've liked Linvoy since he arrived, top class footballer who sticks to his strenghts. One of the best, if not the free transfers signings Pompey have ever made! Prosinecki, Merson, Sheringham, Stone, Berger etc. were all great but Linvoy has perfomed consistantly since his arrival, and for a far longer period than the other top free transfer arrivals we've had did...

Not only a good solid defender, consistently, but a nice bloke as well. Highly regarded by the Fratton faithful.
