*Fernandes Fails Medical*

Fernandes has failed a second medical with Pompey still concerned about the players groin injury. Harry has said; "We will see what his situation is in a couple of weeks."

However Vital Pompey understands that he will have more tests next week to enable enough time to find a replacement. Harry has admitted that he is frustrated;

'It has been a frustrating summer but we are still in there trying and I couldn't ask for more support from the owners.'

Strange!

If they think 2 weeks will make a difference why not get him signed up anyway. If they think it's more serious then bin the deal all together.

agreed again steve, i have just posted i hope we take the risk, surely a deferred payment deal can be done. Or as you say if it is real serious bin or keep him here and hold an option on his contract in its entirety untill January. not the best comparisons but real madrid did it for Woodgate.

Have to say Steve, that as far as I am concerned this is another signal for scepticism. I have as you know always been optomistic, BUT// we have been linked with 100 million worth of players and spent 1m. Harry said he looked fit now, now he aint. Several players we have been in for we suddenly become disinterested in. I doubt now if we have money? Lots of big offers, but none coming off. is that because we are being found out when we cannot pay?

I don't doubt the money is there but the sort of players we're hoping to get see that we narrowly avoided relegation, when other clubs are interested and can offer them europe and better facilities than ours it's not so hard to understand why they end up going elsewhere. If we can improve this season then next season should be a bit easier to get the players we want.

continuing in my pessimist vane,.....next season not without the facilities steve, and according to an interview the guardian on line did with Sacha there now seems to be yet another problem with the stadium and it has been stopped ( have to say ive not read this anywhere else and it was a fairly anti pompey article). Gentleman in the Rutland who rang about the council about the training facility was told that there is no design for the training facility in place so planning consent can be considered. Everything is still years away.

yeah, but Muntari is another defensive midfielder isnt he? I see Duffy is aiming for a starting place, if he is I suggest he looks at moving into centre forward and he'll walk straight in. I accept what you are saying about the likes of farfan, martins etc, BUT// what about the likes of NUGENT etc, surely we should be able to pull that one out of the bag, and Kanu (not that I am too excited about him coming) FFS hasnt even got a job but it takes weeks to seal a deal. WHY???

I read the same article Oy Vey Pompey i believe it was called. It was obviously designed to suggest that Sacha has no money and that we are being funded by Arkady. Think it was also meant to cast doubt on HR's future. I took most of what it said with a pinch of salt. The comment about the stadium did concern me but nobody has actually backed that up. I would imagine that as the Training facility stands drawing up plans for it could be a lengthy process, especially if thay have to be approved in Israel first lol.

Agree entirely Steve C, trouble is we just dont seem to be able to draw them in. I would have thought that for those very reasons we would have presented a tasty opportunity for Nugent to get into the premiership, prove himself week in week out, and take it on from there. If he moves bigger the chances are restricted, if he stays where he is his senior England chances will be reduced. Sadly it is not me that needs convincing.

You are not proved right everytime. And changing the goal posts does not change that - medical --> 'tests'. If you want to know what is really going on at the club, and actually get upto date info, read the messageboards - and not the one on here. Les all the news you have is old. The FACT is that is an old quote which you twisted into a story about a 'medical'. The headline should be 'Fernandes on the way to fitness' - but tha doesn't make a good story does it? I don't run another site, and i'm not tryint to bring this one down. I would however, like to see this site closed - just like many other sites on the web which talk crap about Portsmouth, twist quotes and get the expectations of fans up without any evidence. Perhaps you could run a story about Gerrard not signing today aswell. You don't understand how football insurance works do you. If someone signs permanently and you want them insured, the insurance company will make the player take a medical. The results of the medical will determine the costs of the insurance. The player could have a major injury but the insurance company will offset this risk with higher premiums. A club may even sign a player without insurance. When you sign a player on loan the club loaning the player does not insure him, and therefore the player does not have a medical.

No, that site is well run, informative and has far more insight into what is happening than this site. If i did have a problem with POL, i'm sure that i'd be allowed to air my criticism publicly and without being insulted. And Les, i ask you again, who told you i ran POL?

Russell, my problem is with te story, and as it says above this box 'Have you say about this article'. And i'm only saying what the vast majority of posters on Rivals, Pompeyonline and the Rubicon board say and think. Its time that site that make money from lies are dealt with. These sites get the hopes of honest fans up based on misreported stories - that is out of order.

See my last comment - sites like this do nothing positive for Pompey fans. Just trying to improve what there is out there for Pompey fans to read about the club. Unfortunately you don't seem to be a fan of PFC, and are more interested in hits on this site than what affect you have on fans.

may be there is some truth in some of what you say and ive disagreed with Les and the main Vital Administration over sensorship, but i couldnt administer a site so im reluctant to criticise. im sorry but i dont want to continually read your disagreement with Les on what has become the longest thread ever, i want to blab on pointlessly about things like tomorrow being the first Pompey game my boy is coming to watch with me & im really excited, i hope to see Fernandes play in a week or so. and as i was aginst Kanu coming but i'll get behind him tomorrow, and as somebody else has posted when you've had a pint Kanu's first name is funny. Off to buy my boy his first shirt, might even risk a fernandes name on the back

Surely if you have a problem with this or any other site you should deal with it in the proper manner. Firstly go to Les via email, if that fails to satisfy you your next step would be the system administrator and so on up the ladder. your refusal to follow proper procedure marks you out to be vindictive and out for nothing more than to cause as much trouble as you possibly can. Why single out one site from another? There are many sites out there with far bigger names than vital that get their stories wrong on a far more regular basis. You say you don't want Les to have your email address but you had to use it to register so it's available to him anyway so why do you constantly refuse to deal with this in the proper manner unless of course your only reason is spite. Running any fan site is a far from easy job we should be prepared to help those that attempt it, not bring them down for having the balls to do something we wouldn't attempt ourselves.

Fernandez (Russellm) will join on the last week, on a Pay per Play style contract. Not pay to the player, but pay to the owning club. We will play an initial fee for the player, with the contract drawn up around fitness and amount of games played. This will be agreed by all as Benfica are guilty of agrovating Fernandez groin injury. Once he played enough games and proved himself, we will pay up the remainder, making hin a Pompey player to be marveled at.
