'If It's Football, It's Vital'

*Valencia Table Martins Bid*

Valencia have made an offer of twelve million euros for Inter Milan striker Martins. That equates to about eight and quarter million pounds, no where near the offer Portsmouth have reportable put on the table.

Valencia can offer the player European football and are reportable set to offer the player a six year deal paying him 1.6 million euros a year. A whopping one million pounds! That may sound a lot but it is only about 19,000 pounds a week although this would be an increase on his current wages.

Amazingly my contact, who is associated with the club, has said that they are "confident" we can reach a deal with the player. Peter Storrie is in Italy and has been for the last few days, trying to complete a deal for Martins

Newcastle are also set to meet the club half way over the fee being demanded for Martins, this comes after the player revealed he would be happy to show Newcastle his birth certificate!

well good luck to pompey, i think pompey, newcastle and valencia shows that we are the least likely choice out of the three but we can all wish. good news is that everyone is predicting a safe mid table (possible top table) finish. with this in mind we are favourites to win the season handicap (+42) on bet365 and ive put a sizeable bet on this outcome. BRING THE SEASON ON BOYS!

Call me easy to please but i don't mind who the striker is we sign as long as he scores goals. Well actually not quite that easy to please as long as it's not Beattie

agreed stevec, pessimist from listening to the radio the pundits are revising their predictions down for us, they were based on harry working his magic, which is not yet complete. Ans as for Valencia i did say my rant about Martins before. I have visited a french web site and they said the top four teams in france and spain had all received calls from his agent. he does NOT want to come here. I am in pompey pessimist mood today, i'll be at the game with my son for the 1st time (his local team is toulouse and i cant be having that now can i?)any way i hoped it would be a victory, i still hope we will take the risk on fernandes though, by the way anybody notice his price had gone down from £10 mill to 8.6 mill euros
