Call yourself a Pompey fan

Sit down and read this

Did you ever seen Pompey at Wembley ?

Did you watch the AC Milan game at Fratton Park ?

Did you watch Pompey in the Premiership ?

Did you see us play Saints in December ?

A great number of people from The Trust and Pompey`s 12th man are doing a sterling job promoting the 'Pack the Park` and 'Pay4aPal` schemes.

If you supported Pompey at any of the above events and are not going on Saturday then you do not deserve to call yourself a Pompey fan.

Bit harsh ?

No. I don`t think so

Your club needs you NOW and if you sit there and do nothing there will not be a club to watch in the future - IT IS UP TO YOU !

Call yourself a Pompey fan ?

Are you going on Saturday ?

You`re not !

Why not ?

Oh! You live aboard ! - Well donate to the Pay4a pal scheme to let somebody go in your place!

Oh! You live too far away in the UK ! - Well you managed to make a 'glory match` - Why not now ?

Oh! You don`t want to go on your own ! - Meet me in the Rutland Arms I`ll make you feel welcome and I`ll even buy you a pint or a ticket if you can not afford it!

Perhaps you can`t afford it ? - Register with the Pay4apal scheme - You may get a ticket that way - Or PM me I`ll buy you a ticket

Oh! You are too busy ? - What! Too busy to help support the club you claim to support in their hour of need ?

Maybe you are working ? OK then I hope to see you at our next home game or perhaps you were there last week eh ? No! Really ! oh but I bet you could get the day off if we were playing at Wembley !

The bottom line is .. Anything less than a packed house on Saturday is a disaster.

If you care what happens to PFC get your backside down to Fratton on Saturday... and take your family or a mate with you if you can!

Whatever you do, don`t come crying to me when there is no football at Fratton, because when I ask you if you were at the 'Boro game and if you say no, I am more than likely to call you a glory hunter rather than a Pompey fan.

I make no apologies for my opinion - If it has p*ssed you off - Good ! - That was the intention !

Currently less than 14,000 tickets sold for Saturday ... I want to shout and scream at all those at Wembley or on the common the day after the 08 cup final or those that saw ManU , Arsenal, Chelsea etc.. and are not going on Saturday .. They don't deserve a ******** club !

Tracy - I know you'll be there .. that's my point every bugger basks in the glory ... excluding the 14,000 that are going on Saturday if just 1 in every 25 people who were on the common brought a ticket the part would be packed to the rafters... the other 1's in 25 could do the same for the remainder of the home games...

I'll be there, in person as opposed to in spirit this week. Had a bet in last week and it's a rare time I can afford a flight over for the weekend.

I'll take you up on that mate if I end up over by the Rutland, have a feeling we're gonna be in over the other side beforehand though. I've got a number of yours anyway form Wembley, I'll let you know if I end up over that way. Fingers crossed it won't be my last visit.

Christ I am winding myself up tonight .. But, do you know what ? .. If the final nail is put into our coffin and we do go into liquidation.. How many of those people who take a trip to Fratton to get on the telly and shout and scream at somebody when it happend will ACTUALLY ******** go to the football on Saturday - I don't mean the SOS Pompey lot (sorry lads .. we disagree on tactics but our hearts are in the same place) I mean the kids and teenagers who go along for 'the crack' .. Well how's this for a crack you no good lazy tossers.. get yourself down Fratton on Saturday and support YOUR city's heritage & hopefully it's ******** future .. rather than trying to be cool or whatever it is you do ..

Yes, very well said, Chix. I really want to believe that 'packing the park' will make a difference but I really worry that it won't. That the feud between Gaydermak and Chanrai sentenced us to death 2 or 3 years ago and now we are just treading water waiting to go down for the the last time, sitting in our cell listening to the gallows being built, feeling the**** of the syringe and the lethal contents surging toward our heart. No club as wonderful as ours has ever ceased to be. We seem to have been set up as the 'example' to everyone else; Mend Your Ways Or Look What Will Await You; The Gates Of Hell, or whatever we substitute Saturday Pompey for. I'm sorry to be dismal when these comments are trying to be up-beat and positive but I don't remember the last time I heard anything to make me feel hopeful. Liquidation seems to be the only thing that we can stick up the @rses of these shysters. I'll do my best but I'm so sad. PS. I've been up the Ruttie for years - put a badge on or something so I can at least nod to you. Cheers, you wonderful people.

Just heard on Planet Rock 'News'; Pompey may not make the end of the season. If this club lasts till the summer it will be the Escape to end all Great Escapes. You know, I don't think the average Portsmouth city dweller has any idea of the repercussions of the club folding, the profile lowering enormity of the situation. Jeeze.

You out there ? .. Come and have a chat with me - We can have it at half-time during the game on Saturday -

has saddened me to see how the gates have dwindled over time.

that said, when the truth of the matter is known we only have - and pretty much always have done - only 'really' had a hardcore amount of some 8000 or so havent we?
that is why, for me, in a roundabout way that the 5000 or so signed up for the 12th man site is kind of (if you get what i mean) in many ways a decent representation of the hardcore fan support... base the logic on how many turn up for the 'grand events' on the common and/or wants tickets for big games and how many usually go rain or shine and you come to my conclusion...

i have ALWAYS tried to defend those that cannot go, i appreciate that it is tough for a number of reasons but sometime you cannot defend things - this club is dying on its arse and if we cannot sell out we never will.

something to keep in mind is that some 7,000-8,000 of us there today are season ticket holders so we are putting NOTHING into the club today, whilst of course another 7,000-8,000 paying punters helps it is not enough, arguably 10,000 - which i cannot see us getting - on top isnt either, but it is a MUST for today...

last weekend was an awesome atmosphere and a decent turnout but lets not forget that leeds brought some 3,5000 of the 17,500 attendance, my worry is that boro will bring 1,000 tops, so the 2,000-2,500 shortfall on last week alone 'probably' will not be found so we will be looking at something like 15,000 today?
if that is all we get i will be gutted, you know what you could even see a grown man crying in fratton because that would (almost) confirm my worst fears that there 'probably' is no saving this club...
