Scott Allan arrives on loan

With the surprise departure of Erik Huseklepp to Birmingham on loan morning just beginning to sink in, the club have moved quickly to sign a replacement.

He is Scotland under-21 midfielder Scott Allan and joins on loan from West Bromwich Albion. The international will join fellow Baggie George Thorne at Fratton Park on a month-long loan deal.

Despite interest from both Celtic and Rangers, Allan joined West Brom from Dundee United only last month on a two-and-a-half year deal, which included the option of a further year.

I suspect that Appy has done a 'deal` with his former club over the costs involved. It is of course subject to Football League clearance.

Wage cut

The News is reporting that Trevor Birch, Pompey Administrator, has reached agreement with the Professional Footballer`s Association over deferring part of the player`s wages until the end of the season including foregoing their January salaries completely.

This is a fantastic gesture by the players and deserves the support of every fan - SO PACK THE PARK ON SATURDAY.

I saw the beeb interview with him when he signed for WBA. Looks a good prospect & we need the numbers. He'll need a game or two but if he gives us his all we have a chance.

I have a soft spot for the baggies, I won't forget this!

Comes very highly rated albeit I know little of him from Scotland. Be interesting to see how he does for you in league games. He's been pretty bright and found the net in his reserve outings since joining, but of course reserve games are a different level. Treat them both well (of course Appy will!) and I hope they do well for you. Fair bit of sense in extending the loans I would've thought aswell.
