1980 & big crowd for promotion clash & a great 4-1 win against Huddersfield. 1985 & the thumping of Oldham & a 2-1 victory over our rivals of the time Swindon. A Defoe pen in 2008 made 4 wins out 4. Now there is rare thing. Also remember the 5-0 bashing by WBA & Mandaric didn't want to pay the players!!! The awful side we had under Graham Rix!!!

Pompey 1-0 Bury - report & highlights

Well, that was a case of 'job done' on Saturday really, right? Far from our best, in a game that wasn't great, but Pompey did enough to edge out struggling Bury 1-0 at Fratton Park.

You always need scrappy wins

I am keen to be entertained when I go to football, which hopefully results in a Pompey win. However, at times you accept the points are the main thing - like Bury on Saturday.
