Magri off to Liverpool?

Was anyone else confused as to why - given that we only named 3 players on the bench today for the defeat at Barnsley - Sam Magri was not among the subs today?

This has seemingly become clear this evening...

The News reports that the talented youngster is being lined up for a move to Liverpool.

Apparently the defender is to begin a week-long trial with the premier league outfit next week with the view to a permanent transfer to Anfield.

Given our position we are of course in a 'cost cutting' position, although it is just a shame that 'our future' is seeing the areas in which we have to cut costs...

Then again if this will bring us money needs must I guess.

Quite what fee Liverpool will pay us for Magri, if a move takes place, remains to be seen but it would seem that a Fratton departure for the Pompey born, and Pompey fan, youngster is likely?

Two headlines tonight .. "Appy needs signings" and "Magri off to Liverpool"... am I the only one that is confused.com !! ... maybe they will sign him and then loan him back to us for a couple of years .. now that's an idea ...

If they want him, you would imagine the fee would be at besta £1-200,000. Rather we kept him but no doubt the player will see future up there.

Vultures are circling and it will be the Admin man who does the deal - assuming pool go ahead. Maybe a loaner can be brought in with pool paying as with Thorne and the baggies.

Can't understand this as he can't cost us much to keep and if it is for footballing reasons, then I can't see him going straight in to the Liverpool team, so what is the benefit for us or even Sam? The only logical reason is, we will get a good fee and a good percentage of any sell on.

They can give us Raheem sterling in return. Maybe it will be a swap deal, maybe 2 of their players for Magri?

Could a cynical question be, where is TB from?... Please what is the point of this deal?..I can not see us getting a loan player back out of it. however, we will wish hm well, as it represents a great move for him, to have the development they can offer..
