Just the 10pts for Pompey!

Just the 10pts for Pompey!

10 points! Result!!

These were the words that I just received via a text from a very good friend of mine to inform me that this was the severity of the points penalty we would get from the football league.

Looking on t'internet I soon found confirmation of this, with The Pompey Site issuing this statement.

Pompey Docked 10 Points

Portsmouth Football Club have been deducted 10 points in accordance with Football League rules and regulations.

This Sporting Sanction has been implemented with immediate effect, following formal confirmation that the club is in administration. Pompey have seven days in which to appeal.

The Football League will now begin dialogue with the administrator aimed at achieving a successful sale of the club and its continuation in league football.

It is indeed a 'result' and a fair outcome to our administration.

There were worrying 'rumours' that Pompey could lose up to 20pts but I am glad that the football league have seen sense and only punished us with the mandatory 10, anything more would have been very harsh given the part that they played in getting us into our latest problems...

Losing 'just' 10pts gives us a fighting chance of survival, and I am confident that we can avoid relegation as a result.

Now if only we could be given the approval to bring in a loanee or two to ensure that we remain 'competitive' eh!

So, football league it is over to you again...

I think DL played a blinder here. I think he has been quiet trying to plan a way to rid the club of Chanrai before Chanrai rid the club of him, and it worked. I reckon DL put us into admin knowing the HMRC would challenge AA. And it worked. The club is now run by Birch and DL does not have answer to Chanrai any more. I also think the FA now see they were not only wrong with CSI but also see Chanrai for who he is, hence only giving us 10 points as that's compulsory. If AA had Been appointed I suspect that would have been 20. Seems everyone's happy as even HMRC walked away quietly after the result

Let's hope it's only ten. Glad we have a new administrator. Hopefully we can rebuild for the future now.

Not sure how / if a new CVA is required? If so how will that work as Chan, Sasha and CSI are owed by Pompey- possibly a bit too early to gloat just yet. The accounts can be unfrozen so players can be paid now which is good - they can also be sold; which might not be so good.

I feel 10 was the best outcome; Appy needs to now stop the missed chances and late goals issue that seems to bedevil the blues. PuP

Chesterfield's O'Shea targeted

Although so far Pompey have had two bids turned down for Chesterfield's O'Shea. Will, assuming another bid (as it's expected) is made, it be third time luck for the Blues?

It wasn't Real Madrid but Bristol City isn't bad!

Contrary to what I just wrote (muppet that I am) this isn't at Fratton this is at Ashton Gate with Pompey heading to Bristol City on Saturday 30th July, with a 3pm kick-off.

Liverpool goalie keen on Pompey return

Will he get this chance though? I think we could quite safely say he'll not be in the Liverpool 1st team next season and Pompey want a goalie so could this be Ryan Fulton...
