Admin again within 24-hours!?

Admin again within 24-hours!?

I think that we had all pretty much come round to the idea that administration, at best, was the likely outcome for Pompey...

Appy said last weekend that he was 'braced' for this and would take on the challenges of this when it arrives.

Well, according to The Guardian this is something that will be confirmed either tonight or tomorrow morning!

Admin would see us docked at least 10pts, although at this point in time we would still be above the relegation zone and, for me, with a good chance of survival from relegation.

The only problem is I could foresee a situation where players will be loaned out with the option to buy in the summer to cut costs, therefore weakening an already threadbare squad...

The report 'claims' that the players and staff have been informed that this will happen (by this I mean admin, not the loaning of players), all - assuming The Guardian is right, as it is likely they are - that is needed is official confirmation of this.

Portsmouth to enter administration for the second time in two years - here.

£1m was 'advanced' from the premier league today, apparently, although that is a drop in the ocean compared to what is needed...

Oh well nothing short of what was expected but such a shame for the club, still not sure that the FL will only issue 10 points given it being our 2nd time but I hope they do. With regards to loaning players out, at what point do we have a situation whereby we cannot fullfill fixtures and I understand therefore being kicked out the league?

hardly a shock is it, I think we're meeting this news with the same shrug that we met relegation with in 2010. I heard earlier today that the club were being advanced the parachute payments and for a while I thought that this would be used to pay the taxman and admin wouldn't be needed . . . but never mind. It seems there are a lot of other debts already, and the leccy board had been threatening to cut the power. God what a mess this club is in! At least the football's going to be exciting though . . . we can still beat relegation, and we have enough spirit in the manager, team and fans to do it. PUP.

It's becoming more and more difficult to see any chink of light at the end of the tunnel, not even with infra-red goggles so we the supporters, the players and staff, and our brilliant manager are the ONLY saving graces for this whole sorry business. Those fans who 'voted' that the FA Cup was worth relegation from the Prem; I wonder if they still feel the same way?

Done Deal - Walsall compensated for Lalkovic

Milan Lalkovic has become Pompey's sixth signing of the summer. A compensation agreement with Walsall was agreed that has seen the former Chelsea winger join the Blues.

Solving that goalie quandary

I'm not sure our problem with finding a 'regular' no.1 last season was behind our failure to gain promotion from league two was it? Clearly it didn't help mind.

Pompey's attacking intent

Something Pompey (attacking intent) will look to show next season to get out of league two once and for all. Smith came in from Swindon last week but Cookie wants another striker.
