Harry Wants Three More Strikers!

Harry Wants Three More Strikers!

Harry Redkanpp has claimed he wants three strikers before the transfer window closes. One of the three will be Kanu, who will finish the final parts of his medical today.

Harry said, "I desperately need two more strikers (not including Kanu)."

Harry believes that Kanu will give something different to Portsmouth, describing him as a "clever footballer."

He claimed, "He`ll be a great addition. Kanu is a clever footballer and a good all-round player."

The possible signings that could join Kanu up-front are endless. The only confirmed interest from Portsmouth is regarding Forlan and Martins. If Portsmouth could pull those two off, along with Vargas and Fernandes we would be in for an exciting year.

Peter Storrie is apparently in Italy meeting with Inter Milan representatives, trying to agree a deal thought to be in the region of 12 million pounds.

With Banjani and Lua injured we are despratly short in that area however… let`s say Harry gets Kanu and two other strikers, that will leave us with 6 of them! This surely means that either Benjani or Toddy would leave the club?

Hello all. Just registered. Does anyone else share my worry about midfield? The fact is, we have three premiership quality midfielders in the squad - Mendes, O'Neill and Davis. After that, there's injury-prone Thompson, Hughes and Songo. Fernandes would help, but we have to get a leftie in quick, otherwise we will struggle. On the striker front, I say pay £5million and get David Nugent - he's young, has the quality and would be an investment.

I believe Juan Vargas would have filled in on the left, but it seems to be taking a while to sign him up....as the other article implicates, there may be complications.

daily we are linked with midfielders waysideblue, but on this site everybody worries about everywhere, we are after all pompey. Most would agree with you about Nugent but it seems Preston dont want and can afford not to sell.

well didnt we have 1000 strikers last season, just that 999.5 of them were utter sh1te! i think if we got Kanu, Martins and Forlan then Toddy will go, Benjani will go on loan and Lualua will leave in January if he is not used regularly. as for 12 million for martins.... thats a LOT of money! considering we apparently offered 7 to start with and inter want 14!!!! but it shows intent and im sure inter will step up our bid a bit higher but i think we could land him, and what a coup that would be! ... when was teh last time we bought one of the best italian clubs (should be) 1st team striker???? this would smash our club record... its just like playing football manager all over again. i tell you what though, the liklihood of relegation is minimal... saying that im sure we will find a way to be down that end towards the end!

as for the subject of relegation... i cant see any of the three teams that came up to the prem surviving. saying that, wigan are likely to be rubbish this season and i cant see aston villa doing very well. fulham will be down that end too. any news on gareth barry ?

Lets get Gareth Barry in if we can, strikers Martins would be great although there is some confusion as to whether or not he is actually 21 i hear, Nugent would be a good buy and I'd have enquired about James Mcfadden at Everton!

Got a sneaking feeling that Reading could do a Wigan this season, but i don't see Wigan repeating last season. Sheffield Utd and Watford i think will struggle this season. Still need a left sided player but doesn't everybody. Seems to be the hardest position for any team to fill.

Have seen one article http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=55779 says Kanu played in a 1-1 draw against Cardiff last night and that his younger brother also had a run out.
