What a show of loyalty!?

What a show of loyalty!?

In a day and age where 'loyalty' is a word that has little place in football today has proven (I think) just how much of this there is at Portsmouth Football Club!

Players, not forgetting the staff, have NOT been paid yet instead of jumping ship, when they easily could have, they have refused point blank to leave the good ship PFC!

Whatever Appy has been saying to the players in the short time that he has been here it has bloody well worked.

I have said, quite a few times, that I think that Appy is the best thing to happen to this club in donkies years, and this is another example of it...

The sad thing is that one of the best things to happen has happened at one of the worst times in our history, so how long it will last is debatable, we quite literally might only have another few weeks of existence left?

We might be proper f****d but at least we are going down fighting and those that pull on the blue shirt are going to be doing this with pride and will fight on until the bitter end - if February 20th does prove to be the end - which is the Pompey way.

Although I think that we, as fans, also need to pat ourselves on the back as our loyalty and support has probably in some way, albeit a small way, helped sway the decision for them to 'tough it out' and see the job through...

Well done Appy, Jason Pearce, Joel Ward and Stephen Henderson, you are a credit to Portsmouth Football Club and I am even prouder to say that I support a club that has people like you at it!

It is a shame that Ryan Williams moved on but one out of 4 or 5 that could have is not bad is it, now we just have to sit it out and wait for our latest court date, which will prove to be our last unless our bill to HMRC is paid...

Some talk has already started about possible loan moves away by players with views to permanent transfers in the summer but surely having kept them today we will keep them until the end of the season, or as long as this club is in existence?

It's gone better than I ever imagined - does that mean there's a saviour on the horizon ?? PUP.

I don't think we should blame RW for his departure, I don't think he had a lot to do with it. PUP.

I see Jewels blaming the moves broke down because of personal terms, can he really be that stupid lol, talk about trying to save face. some of their so called fans were calling ward pearce and henderson muppets and idiots for not signing for them, do they really think they are that good lol, think i know who the real muppets are. I think DL has stood tall, I also think...and i may get slated for this...that he has the backing of the FL, and its these parasites that they are fed up with NOT PFC as such. Therefore either we will be allowed the remaining parachute money to pay tax..or we have new funding/owners who can now come in at a reasoable price..I think AA has stuck out for a BIG price for BC who has been unwilling to take loss on his original loan/debeture, thinking that he could flog off players if he had to, to reduce the purchase price for the new buyer in a swings and roundabout come rob peter pay paul...I don't think i will be suprised now if BC don't SACK HIM WITHIN THE WEEK..hopefully coinciding with a new buyer-possibly the original prospective buyer...the "proper footballing person who know the game inside out" to quote AA

Nice one plymouth! Well, this is a breath of fresh air! I am sure there is someone who is ready to step in for the club, otherwise, anyone at the club would have sold all 3 of them to save us as a club. When survival is at stake, you'd cut both arms for it! So how how come we didn't sell 2 of them for the £1.6 we need? Better times ahead I feel! And oh, it is so nice to see 3 new heroes of PFC; the future of PFC!

My only consern is if this apparent player revolt is true, could this screw us in 3weeks come the court hearing! I'm hoping the club and players stubbornness is not ignorance on there part but maybe, just maybe knowledge of new investment coming!
01/02/2012 07:11:00
Nut, i say ***** it!

we either do have a 'masterplan' or we are going to go down fighting - like i said in the article i would sooner we went in a blaze of glory than a whimper, sod those that are 'owed money' and got us into this position in the first place, why flog whatever we can for whatever we can for their benefit...

if february 20th is to be our last, which it WILL if that tax bill is not settled and/or an owner found, then this is the way i would rather it went - i do not see it as a 'player revolt', i see it as loyalty being shown and rats STICKING with the sinking ship not abandoning it!

of course i do feel genuinely sorry for the 'normal working class' members of staff at PFC, they cannot afford to be without the money they should get so i just hope that the impacts on them are not too drastic...

Altruism? Or perhaps the wages offered were derisory? Or maybe the board didn't want to sell at the price offered? Whatever the reason, Pompey have won the transfer window battle and will now have a feeling of togetherness that's going to propel them onwards and upwards. As they say, it's not over until..............

What a great result, it could be our best yet!!

Chaplin secured

Chaplin had a contract with Pompey until 2018 but ahead of the disappointing Notts County defeat he extended his contract with the Blues until 2019.

On this day in history...25th October

Another Fratton disappointment

That 2nd half on Saturday against Notts County was woeful - absolutely awful wasn't it. The first 15-minutes or so of it was like a pre-season friendly to pre-season!

Match highlights - Pompey 1-2 Notts County

What a disappointment that was! The 1st half wasn't bad, in fact large chunks of it were good but the 2nd half was just woeful with a soft centred Pompey beaten 2-1 by Notts County.
