Feeding off the carcass? Ipswich 3 Fulham 1

Feeding off the carcass? Ipswich 3 Fulham 1

Given our outstanding tax bill, and the winding-up petition from HMRC as a result, it is little wonder that clubs are circling like vultures, ready to feast off the Portsmouth Football Club carcass.

The media will knock out 'link after link', some will have basis and some will not...

It is common knowledge, pretty much acknowledged by managers at both clubs, that Ipswich are after Jason Pearce and Joel Ward.

So far a couple of offers have been rejected.

Although reports from The East Anglian Times are now saying that Ipswich have not only returned once more, doing so on Tuesday, but returned for not only Pearce and Ward but also another 'unnamed' Pompey player too!

This offer is 'said' to be around £2m for the trio...

Another new 'link' today is one that sees Fulham's name connected with Ryan Williams.

The Mirror reports that the premier league outfit are 'preparing a £500,000 bid' for the Aussie winger.

True reports or not, fending off these vultures is only something we can do for a limited time...

I don't mind (but I do really!!) clubs coming in for our players - it's the derisory transfer fee offers I really detest.

Yes you expect vultures but they are adding insult to injury with their offers. When & if we are in a postion to buy again, may be can offer Ipswich 50p for their entire midfield!!!

We are not in court until 20th Feb and the window will have shut by then, so let's keep everyone and see what happens on the 20th!! Surely us as a club and NOT in administration do not have to sell players just yet no matter what AA says?

If we lose players now we cannot possibly compete properly in the league, i agree with frattonbex, keep them all and finish as high as possible, we have nothing to lose and Ipswich can visit the league below us for a few years - we owe THEM nothing at all.

Vital View - League 2, 14th January 2017

Doncaster retained a healthy lead at the top ahead of Plymouth and Carlisle. Cheltenham moved above Notts County with only Newport below them in the Football League now.

Video - Pompey 2-1 Leyton Orient

Conor Chaplin made up for missing a penalty - the third spot kick in a row I think we've missed isn't it? - with a brace as Pompey deservedly saw off Leyton Orient 2-1 at Fratton Park.
