Third time (un)lucky?

Third time (un)lucky?

Amidst the latest HMRC concerns the thoughts for many of us are more than likely along the lines that Pompey will have little choice but to offload players, even if we might not want to.

With most of us waiting anxiously to see what the outcome is with player departures before another 'possible' court date with the taxman next month?

Speaking of the taxman Harry Redknapp and Milan Mandaric, as if you did not know, started their court cases this week charged on various counts of tax evasion...

Anyway, back to the point in hand player departures are something we would be expecting in the next week or so before the transfer window closes.

By all accounts another bid for Joel Ward and Jason Pearce has come in from Ipswich, although this has again been turned down!

So, at the moment Pompey are standing firm and are managing to fend off the circling vultures - the problem is how much longer can we do this?

Having failed with two bids will Ipswich launch a third and see it third time lucky for them but third time unlucky for us...

I hope not but if it is the only way of settling the HMRC I can see Appy having to let these sales go through. He must be sooooooo pi**ed with the situation. Well in all honesty we all are

As Appie said before he knew what was about to land on him; " every player has his price" and in my lide time Pompey have never been in the luxurioys position of being able to turn down a serious offer for a player.

unfortunately AA has told the world what we owe. These 2 are worth more that £1.6mio.

At least we know that we're not in a 'fire sale' position. We've brought in players and refuse to let others go - perhaps behind the scenes there's something we don't know. Here's hoping PUP.

The manager has inspired me and I truly feel he has been let down, I really thought CSI were the business too, they were making the right noises and actions, but to sell the players would not help one iota, not with what we owe, clever people have been found out during the last few years, and the money just isnt there. Keep the players for now, it doesnt matter if they go for free once we are liquidated does it?

The Mansfield Low Down

PompeyFrippy looks ahead to Mansfield where Pompey MUST win in order to keep alive the hopes of beating Doncaster - who end this if they beat Exeter - and Plymouth to the title.

Over and out?

Noel Hunt's Pompey career could be over? A dislocated shoulder, at Hartlepool, means the former Southend man will not feature against Mansfield or Cheltenham.

Burgess - we can go again in league one

Christian Burgess, like the rest of us, is enjoying Pompey's promotion to league one BUT he's not content to settle at that level - he's already eyeing the Championship.

Winger returns but full back on his way out?

Ex-Chelsea & Walsall winger Lalkovic is back at Pompey, ahead of the proposed end to his Ross loan. Talbot looks as if his Blues days are numbered, a Chesterfield return is mooted?
