Home comforts key but time to gain on the road

Results at Fratton will determine the outcome of our season, probably, but points here and there on the road are important now.

This weekend Cardiff 'might' have one eye of their league cup semi final so we need to capitalise on this if the opportunity arises!

After that we travel to Peterborough, who will be looking to do the double over us having beaten us in what proved to be Steve Cotterill's last home game in charge of Pompey and also our last home defeat before West Ham at the weekend.

Although this game, especially given our away form, is far from easy it 'should' be viewed as a game to get something from...

Before our next home game the transfer window closes, lets just hope that this can close with the club under new ownership - solid ownership! - or at least, if a takeover is not complete, with Appy able to do a little bit of business for us to be able to take on Hull in our next home game with some 'fresh faces' around the squad.

Well, we have one at least!

I am far from 'doom and gloom' but all the while the threat of a possible points penalty from the football league hangs over our head the more important it is that we get points on the board so putting the West Ham defeat behind us is something we need to do quickly.

We then look to these games at Cardiff and Peterborough with the hope, if not the expectancy, of coming away from these with some points...

Tough one here. I wouldn't read too much into their cup game but we live in hope. However, on the day of that famous cup final of 2008, I did look to the heavens & said, 'as long as we beat Cardiff today, I don't care if we don't beat them in my lifetime. Well...
