Home comforts key but time to gain on the road

Home comforts key but time to gain on the road

Results at Fratton will determine the outcome of our season, probably, but points here and there on the road are important now.

This weekend Cardiff 'might' have one eye of their league cup semi final so we need to capitalise on this if the opportunity arises!

After that we travel to Peterborough, who will be looking to do the double over us having beaten us in what proved to be Steve Cotterill's last home game in charge of Pompey and also our last home defeat before West Ham at the weekend.

Before our next home game the transfer window closes, lets just hope that this can close with the club under new ownership - solid ownership! - or at least, if a takeover is not complete, with Appy able to do a little bit of business for us to be able to take on Hull in our next home game with some 'fresh faces' around the squad.

Well, we have one at least!

I am far from 'doom and gloom' but all the while the threat of a possible points penalty from the football league hangs over our head the more important it is that we get points on the board so putting the West Ham defeat behind us is something we need to do quickly.

We then look to these games at Cardiff and Peterborough with the hope, if not the expectancy, of coming away from these with some points...

Duo sign professional Pompey deals

Will Jez Bedford and Theo Widdrington be the future Pompey midfield? We'll certainly hope so, clearly the Blues do too or they wouldn't have signed professional deals at Fratton Park.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.
