The 2-2 draws with Villa in 1986 & 1998 & that trip to Old Trafford in 2003. Heavens above, 9 years ago, it seems just like yesterday. Despite the scoreline we did ourselves proud with 9,000 loud & proud fans. Quashie one on one with their keeper as we trailed 2-1, well, never mind. Our aim was promotion for that season & the cup was a distraction. Just think 5 years later we returned for our glorious victory.

Chesterfield and Villa 86 - like Matt though the memories of Man U are strong. Didn't go but watched on Sky proud of the team and the fans and then I knew the sleeping giant was back. Sadly not for long enough though.

Duo sign professional Pompey deals

Will Jez Bedford and Theo Widdrington be the future Pompey midfield? We'll certainly hope so, clearly the Blues do too or they wouldn't have signed professional deals at Fratton Park.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.
