Kitson off to Bristol City?

With the transfer window moving ever closer to re-opening movement surrounding Portsmouth Football Club is something we 'expect'.

Arrivals, as has been said by myself and others previously, cannot be something we anticipate but players exiting the Fratton Park gates for the final time - as Pompey players anyway - pretty much is...

Those that are 'higher earners' are the ones that we could really do with offloading as even if we cannot generate much in the way of a fee for them the actual saving of the mammoth wages we continue to pay too many can, and will, make a difference!

One of those on a considerable wage is Dave Kitson.

He is also, when all is said and done, one that I would suspect most would rather see leave than stay so 'rumours' of a mounting interest from Bristol City could well prove interesting.

I 'think' that they were 'linked' with him at the end of the summer transfer window but nothing happened. Well apparently - from a couple of people now - 'Dainty Kitten' is very much interesting Bristol City, with them 'plotting' a move in the New Year.

The best part about the 'potential' deal is that we would not even actually diminish our squad numbers as a 'swap deal' involving The Ginger Whinger would see Brett Pitman come the other way...

As Pitman would be, at worst, as prolific as Kitson it would seem a no-brainer, even more so as I would imagine we would end up paying him half as much we do the 'could be' departing 'striker'.

So, what do we make of this guys - is this a 'rumour' that you could see having some substance, and is it one you would like to see happen?

This seems a little strange as last week City were talking of having to let Jamo go because of his wages. They were looking for a good young keeper to replace him! - now didn't they have one of those?! I suppose in those circumstances a swap deal could happen but they'd still need to find Kitson's wages. Seems unlikely.

I'm not too sure we'd miss Kitson that much I'm also not convinced this deal is on.... finally ... I'm also not sure of Pompey being permitted to sign players if as expected we take a points deduction; unless of course the Italian family express interest again. I'm also not sure that they can have cross controlled shares in a uk and anothe European club. I've come to the conclusion im not sure

re their financial plight, the Chairman also said £30m debt built up by high wages over 3 years not sustainable so a paycut might be needed? how long left is his contract with us

Where's the source ? To be honest if we are to play 1 upfront we need someone in the mould of drogba . But a championship version .. Ie Jason Roberts or ricardo fuller . Kitson isn't that bad a player just can't play upfront on his own and score.

We need an owner, how can we be looking at players when all we are likely to do is sell . Can we afford wages at the end of January? People will poach Ward, Pearce & Heseklepp for a pittance. Rocha back to the PL. Would you join Pompey in these circumstances. I am really concerned about the rest of this season.

To say I'm not Kitson's biggest fan is to put it mildly. Does he want a lift to Bristol?

What absolute nonsense! We (BCFC) can't afford Kitson and nor do we need him with Stead/Taylor. As for Pitman, seriously do you think we'd sell him after losing Nicky Maynard? Not a chance in hell, fella's!
