Just the home win in 1997 over Stoke. Desperate times at the wrinf end of Div 1. Some 14 years later & where are we now? Happy birthday to Kevin 'rooster' Russell. I played school boy football with & against him from the age of 8-16. Junior & senior schools, Sunday league & even Pompey school boys. He was the best player of our age group.

Just the home win over Preston in 1969 - a lot of birthdays including Gerry Francis who talks a lot of sense on SSN, he is now working with Tony Pulis at Stoke.

On this day in history...30th May

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 30th May.

No Crawley return for Tubbs

Tubbs doesn't have a future at Pompey, he's on the transfer-list but offloading him could be difficult given his wages. These wouldn't be anywhere within Crawley's reach.

Pitfalls of Sheffield Wednesday loanee returning

As Catlin put it 'the gamble' of aiming sign Sheffield Wednesday loanee Lavery has to be one Pompey fans understand. It isn't as cut and dried as saying 'he's a free agent' sign him!

Lassie coming home...well sort of!

A-box-to-box player, capable of defensive duties, with ability to burst forward with intent to make things happen - Diarra is Pompey's man and wants an England return. I jest of course!
