Talking, Hobbling...Nothing At All

Talking, Hobbling...Nothing At All

As you are probably all aware it has been confirmed that Pompey are continuing talks with Sol Campbell, he has indeed undertaken a medical at Fratton Park.

Harry Redknapp confirmed that more talks had taken place today but denied that a deal had been finalised as some had suggested. Redknapp would again echo his sentiments on how highly he rated Campbell and how much he would like to acquire his services and hopes to sign him.

No further news however on the Lomana LuaLua injury though I`m afraid. The BBC say he could face a month out but no results on a possible scan have yet been revealed by the club itself.

The Juan Vargas deal is also yet to be completed as it had hoped it would be today. Hopefully there will be something more concrete on this and the rest of the above tomorrow?

If Campbell is undergoing a medical surely that is a clear sign that he is about to sign, otherwise why bother.

whilst it's always delightfull to have visitors on our site, particularly those who consider themselves sexy, and not without some concern for those whose giant bits have gone green, i would like to move off the subject of mad desciples who wish to join exit, i would like to note that original reports stated Vargas would go back to Argentina after his medical to tie up things with his family and would be flying back tuesday (tomorrow). His web site still says he plays for Portsmouth de Inglaterra and still says how great he is, so we should probably expect something from the true messiah tomorrow evening or wednesday morning.

russellm, we are green with envy over the Sol deal, if Portsmouth can pull this off it will be the the linchpin to attract more major names. If you still need the renovations done on the cheap my uncle is still available.

So let's hope Man City don't scupper the Sol deal as the defence looks so much stronger with Sol's name pencilled in !

You'd think that a medical would be a clear sign a player would sign but it doesn't always work that way does it? So I thought it best not to say he would if their was a chance he might not, maybe it could be the case here now with City sniffing around...

those northern monkeys trying to steal OUR sol in exchange for distin.... great work lol. im still holding a small amount of optimism (hang on that cant be a character trait for me can it...) that we can sign Sol in the next few days. wage cut to 40k a week is quite good for us, city probably only have to offer a bigger wage packet and were screwed though!

No Crawley return for Tubbs

Tubbs doesn't have a future at Pompey, he's on the transfer-list but offloading him could be difficult given his wages. These wouldn't be anywhere within Crawley's reach.

Pitfalls of Sheffield Wednesday loanee returning

As Catlin put it 'the gamble' of aiming sign Sheffield Wednesday loanee Lavery has to be one Pompey fans understand. It isn't as cut and dried as saying 'he's a free agent' sign him!

Lassie coming home...well sort of!

A-box-to-box player, capable of defensive duties, with ability to burst forward with intent to make things happen - Diarra is Pompey's man and wants an England return. I jest of course!

Will pair stay at Fratton?

It's been made (more than once) clear by Catlin Pompey want Davies & Hollands to stay. Both (also more than once) have said they want to this - deals have to be right for all concerned.
