Pompey draw Chelsea (a) in the FA cup

The draw for the FA cup 3rd round, which has just been made, has seen Pompey drawn against Chelsea - the last time we played them, pre-season aside, was in the FA cup final!

FA cup 3rd round draw time is always one of the highlights of the football league calendar so, like me, I suspect that many of you were glued to the box waiting for ball no.32 to be drawn out!

When it was we found out Chelski would have the advantage of being at home against us.

Can the New Year bring us some joy in the cup, as it has - maybe at a price - some many times in recent years...

Are you pleased with this draw guys, do you think we can win and are you also happy where it is or would you have preferred someone else somewhere else?

As ever share your views with us below...

Mite give us an extra month to pay the players as we get half the cut of gate which is a lot when u charge £60 a ticket . And they say January is the time the pot runs out .. Maybe not picked for tv as their is slightly bigger game up north

Well at least we can concentrate on the relegation battle & bow out without too much disgrace unless they thrash us. It could have been Watford or Burnley away, no glamour or dosh either.

We can not loose If we win, draw or CFC win the game..it does not matter.. No doubt we will be a live game now the Manc's have to fight it out between them, that could mean more cash, and adverts around the world that we are for sale.. the gate reciepts and possible replay too... marvelous..cant lose, if some one is going to knock us out better its a giant rather than a minnow..

Pompey can put out a reserve team and devalue the cup :-) or concentrate on the league - or just take the money and go home - on the train cos we aint got no money. The reality is two ways to look at it, 1, disappointing as a cup run would be nice, or, 2, nothing to lose as per Plymouth Graham's point of view. At this stage Graham's view wins it for me; but could Pompey win it for us?

Unlikely wins can happen at Chelski- its happened this year on more than one occaision but, Pompey just cannot be as wasteful in front of goal as Norris and particularly Kitson have been.

Nice steady opening against average enough teams

The words of PompeyFrippy, not mine. But all things considered I think he's right when you look at the opening games of Pompey's 2017-18 season.
