How long before the coffers run dry though?

How long before the coffers run dry though?

The News reported this afternoon that the staff at Pompey, all employees, have been paid their wages as expected - something that Admin Andy backed up with his interview on TalkSport this afternoon.

Good news of course, although attention will soon shift to the end of December with it worried if that same outcome will be seen?

There 'should' be enough in the coffers to see the payment made again on time, and it is 'said' there is actually enough 'stashed away' for us to continue as a going concern until February 2012?

The coffers will 'probably' be topped up some more in January when anyone of any value will be offloaded, if we can find a buyer?

The highest earners will be the ones that are looked at first although it is not as easy as just saying 'we will sell him', the player also has to want to leave and if he is not getting elsewhere what he is 'meant' to get here he will dig his heels in, that much we can be assured of!

Quite why anyone, legitimate that is, would want to buy into Portsmouth Football Club is hard to understand in many ways but what we do know is that this is needed as the club only has 'short-term funding' available so it would only be a matter of time before that time did come when it is being reported players and staff had not been paid.

I can only image how the staff at PFC, more so the 'common working class' like us staff who cannot afford to go without in the slightly, are going to feel as the end of each month comes around?

'Fearful' is, I would suspect, one word that would be used...

Admin Andy needs to find us someone, and quickly, and he also needs them to be legit!

i think the only real chance we've got of finding a buyer is if some one or some group buy the whole of CSI's portfolio other than that i'm struggling to think why anyone would, although there was more than 1 buyer last time around so you never know we might get 'lucky'.... but then if they lost out to this bunch of crooks then i dread to think how bad they where :/

Well we just need to bring in a decent owner before February and hopefully we should be alright.

DD should not take that long to do now.. I reckon we will have new owners farly soon because there were other parties interested in the club before CSI

i take back that comment, if what AA has said is true, cause according to him CSI actually put about 10mil into the club so we're relatively debt free, that's a complete game changer if ya ask me, compared to the last sale we're suddenly quite an attractive proposition, we've got a good squad, we're still in the champ, we've got a young ambitious manager and not much debt, with land to build housing on when the market come round, which it will in time.

I think January is going to be the defining month which will show how desperate we are. Feel a bit sorry for Appleton in all this, just come in and may have to lose the majority of his best players.

Feck feck Feck.......................... I havent written anything for quite some time, content to sit back and watch the banter instead, but FFS what is it with our beloved club, how the Feck do we keep getting ourselves into this position? The football league have got a lot to answer for, but we all know how much blame they are going to shoulder! It is possible that there may be an owner out there for us, but when have those saga's ever occured within a month or two? I think we could be in a spot of bother....If we do go into Admin we are just about rooted!

I'm also not at all convinced it's doom and gloom and you can write banner lines such as this article and it will achieve nothing. I do not accept Pompey are in the same straits as financially they are not- simply factual. Poet is now a solvent trading asset and I believe as such it will be hived off by Admin Andy; I also believe that having put so much effort into keeping it alive he will allow a lot of leeway to keep it afloat. Put simply Pompey is a club who's assets outweigh its debt and there was a gang of regular charlatans around before CSI bought and I'm sure they will be around again. I still see worse case scenario is Chan the man returns but will look to sell not to recover but for profit; which may delay the securing of a committed owner. Pompey is probably his best bet of getting his £2.5m back. We aren't dead yet and winning the next game or 3 will help the mood no end.

The whole of Europe and USA is in a mess with money at this time, so I cannot see that anyone will come in to buy the club and look after it long term - to stay above water there must be big gates at home, so winning home games well is imperative now. Just when I thought things were doing ok we receive another hit like this - not fearful, just resigned to a hard slog just to stay afloat!
