PFC statement - safe for now...

The Pompey Site has issued the following statement confirming that Vladimir Antonov has resigned as chairman and director and that CSI have indeed gone into admin

Portsmouth Football Club Statement

Portsmouth Football Club can today provide the following information regarding recent events as a result of issues relating to Vladimir Antonov and Snoras Bank:

The club's parent company, Convers Sports Initiatives plc (CSI), has been placed into administration.

Vladimir Antonov has resigned as chairman and director of Portsmouth Football Club.

Portsmouth Football Club (2010) Limited - the company that operates PFC - is not in administration and continues to trade.

The club has funding in place for the short term, but will now be seeking alternative investment for its longer-term requirements.

Pompey chief executive David Lampitt said: "After the extraordinary amount of work put in by so many people over the last 18 months to get to this point, it is incredibly disappointing for the club to find itself in this position.

"I want to assure staff and fans that we will continue to do everything possible to safeguard the position of the club and its longer term future."

Quite how much money has been 'put aside' and how long it will last remains to be seen, although given the operating costs of a football club, and payments that need to be repaid, you would not 'think' it would last that long so another new owner is being sought, again!

Maybe the 'rumours' that Balram Chainrai could reclaim ownership of the club once again may well be proven true?

Crook and villains need not apply, although the often do!

'If' we can find someone that genuinely wants to own a club and wants to save it they are going to be heavily grilled and will find, more than ever, that getting the fans to actually 'believe' their motives and vision will be harder than ever...

I think the llatest poll is out of date after this.

so when Southampton Leisure went under the football club were docked points even though it was a going concern. Doesn't bode well does it.

When it gets to the point that you are no longer surprised/annoyed/disappointed/deflated/stressed by this sort of news coming out of PFC, then I guess you could say apathy has set in !!!!! I guess we can't give the scummers anything else for them to chuck at us tho ? I just hope we are still around on the 18th to be able to play them !! Still......Business as usual.
BarneyArmy
in some way i'm not suprised but i'm also gobsmacked/dismayed/distraught. And resigned as well. The FL will throw the book at us and with relish! Oh well at least we're not scummers!

So the well thought out 5 year plan that was so praised by members on here doesn't have much legs now does it! So it's back to myth, legend, rumour, speculation and desperation all over again. What a bloody shambles. I bet Apple isn't so Appy now either. I think I might take up Pigeon racing it's far less stressful than being a Pompey fan.

The FA/FL should be docked something to go into the Pompey coffers because it was their bad decision through the 'Fit and Proper' which has led to this. Why should the club and fans suffer?
PFCblue
PFCBlue, couldn't agree more. It just goes to show how totally inept the 'fit and proper person' checks are. Also I was under the impression that any prospective owner was required to deposit a significant amount of ring fenced money as a guarantee in order to buy the club for just such situations.

IF the bloke has nicked some cash it's a shame he didn't buy a few better players

ALLEGED QUOTE My action is very simple. To avoid any difficulties for CSI subsidiaries like PFC and to bring smooth and solid investor SHORTLY! CSI voluntary appointed administrator. Further information and our (me and Mr.Baranauskas statements) will be available via youtube early next week. Cozz everybody probably imagine how shocked we been after this absolutely unexpected action against the group by Lithuania. We will do our best to keep you all posted ASAP and this is pure political case and i'm going to prove it shortly! Also i'll do my best to keep you all happy in CSI world with new proper people and to make it smooth and gentle! I'm very sorry that this people destroyed everything i build in 15 years just in 15 mints. My apologies to all who affected of that. - From Antonov
