How did the new boys rate?

Lets face it we signed Joe Mattock and George Thorne on loan to play, right?

So, should we be surprised that they did at the weekend...

That said seeing both start against Leicester may have been a 'slight surprise', maybe more so in Thorne's case - although with few other options available what other option was there?

I will not say too much myself, other than (and I am knocking them in saying this) both 'had their moments', but what we here at Vital Pompey Towers want to know from you is 'how did the new boys rate for you?'

Wasn't that impressed with Mattock to be honest, but I'm hoping that was just first match nerves!!! Thorne on the other hand I thought gave a good account of himself and I can see why WBA rate him quite highly. He is a big unit who was always looking for the ball and then trying to do something with it. Something weahve been missing for a while.

Looked good from the pub in France, oh that was Harlequins rugby- I get so confused since that nice Mr Cotterille arrived .......

mattock was the least impressive of the two, do not want to be too hard on him after one game tbf! you could see he has not played for a while and 'perhaps' tried too much...
thorne looks confident, and competent, on the ball - problem is all too often he had no movement around him and sometimes rushed a pass and gave away a simple ball, some of his range of passing looked pretty impressive tho.
