LuaLua - Scan on Monday

LuaLua - Scan on Monday

Pompey will hopefully find out the full extent of Lomana LuaLua`s ankle injury on Monday morning when he is sent for a scan.

LuaLua injured his ankle in Friday`s nights friendly with Oxford United and first thoughts were that it could be serious maybe even ligament damage? After the game physio Gary Sadler said,

'The swelling suggests a fair bit of damage.'

With only two weeks before our opening game and our striking options already very limited we will desperately hope that the injury isn`t too bad,

"You don't know how gutted I am. Two weeks before the start of the season, can you believe it?' is what LuaLua would say on the injury and it`s timing.

All we can do is keep our fingers crossed but this will surely only increase our need for at least one more striker, hopefully a quality oneā€¦

Injury blow for Pompey's LuaLua LuaLua was injured towards the end of last season too Portsmouth striker Lomana LuaLua may miss the start of the season after suffering suspected ankle ligament damage in a friendly against Oxford. The 25-year-old, who signed a three-year contract last week, will have a scan on Monday. "The swelling suggests a fair bit of damage," said Portsmouth physio Gary Sadler after the game. LuaLua added: "You don't know how gutted I am. Two weeks before the start of the season, can you believe it?" http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/5250030.stm

Is this supposed to mean something to me blueknight? You trying to say I've basically copied and pasted the BBC post into here? I can assure you the only copying I would have done would be the quotes. There are only so many ways you can report the same article, and you can't change the quotes can you so they have to remain the same. I've added my own thoughts on the issue mate not really much else I could add. Not being funny but how often are stories reported here before they are found elsewhere? The reason I posted this story was so people can add their opinion on Vital Pompey...

Maybe I should have attibuted the quotes to the BBC, so that is my bad here but in my effort to get something on here the fans might have wanted to talk about I didn't, and that was a mistake I'll hold my hands up..

The only good thing about Lua Lua's injury is we have time to find a replacement before transfer deadline day. Imagine if this happened on 1st Sept.

These dodgy ankles of his may be a result of the landings from all the flips. Let's hope not.

I'd rather see a fit Lua Lua than a Lua Lua doing back flipps and somersaults. Just celerbarte with the Pompey fans Lua when you score we don't need you to show off.

I doesn't matter about scoreline's Grey, although it does look a little embarassing but it's about the team gelling and getting match fit without injuries. Unfortunatly Lua Lua has picked up an injury that looks serious as he isn't a good healer like Shearer or Owen. On the plus side we have scored more goals than we have conseeded in pre season friendlies.

nelson, i dont know if you went to the games that pompeygray refered to, i did and i can tell you there wasnt much on pitch gelling, the reality is with just a little time left to our first game we are weaker than we were last season. Time for a bit of that ol transfer magic from Harry, and maybe a little minor panicing.

Chesterfield's O'Shea targeted

Although so far Pompey have had two bids turned down for Chesterfield's O'Shea. Will, assuming another bid (as it's expected) is made, it be third time luck for the Blues?

It wasn't Real Madrid but Bristol City isn't bad!

Contrary to what I just wrote (muppet that I am) this isn't at Fratton this is at Ashton Gate with Pompey heading to Bristol City on Saturday 30th July, with a 3pm kick-off.

Liverpool goalie keen on Pompey return

Will he get this chance though? I think we could quite safely say he'll not be in the Liverpool 1st team next season and Pompey want a goalie so could this be Ryan Fulton...
