If only we could buy him...

If only we could buy him...

I saw this on The Vital Great Football Experiment Blog (click here, well worth a look and a comment or two!) and it got me to thinking what you would do Pompey wise to the question:

Let's go and buy him......

My question of the day is a slightly reworked version of an old favourite - If your club could sign any player right now who would it be?

The stipulation is that they have to be from the league your team is in to make a bit more realistic.

We can't have league 1 supports saying they want Sergio Aguero for example, but we can have them saying they want Jordan Rhodes!!

I'll start the ball rolling as a United fan ask for David Silva please!

cannot think, off the top of my head, of a name but a PROVEN goalscorer at nopower level is what we are crying out for at the moment..

Billy Sharp springs to mind but i'd also love Jay Boothryod or Ross McCormack and does Craig Bellemy still count? lol but i'd probably go for -as much as this pains me too say it- either Ricky Lambert or Adam Lallana, 2 outstanding players this season... unfortunately

At this moment, a goalscorer is needed. So as much as I hate myself for saying it, it would be Lambert, or possibly Leeds' McCormack.

Vital View - League 2, 25th-26th March 2017

With Doncaster and Plymouth yet to play Portsmouth took advantage to close the gap and extend it on the chasing pack. Newport & Leyton Orient look likely to be relegated.

Video - Pompey 2-1 Newport

With Stevenage drawing and Blackpool the only potential challenger winning we've got a six point cushion on Boro that's effectively seven given our superior goal difference.
