Another uninspiring name?

Another uninspiring name?

Is that unfair on Brian Laws to say that he is 'another uninspiring name?'

Maybe so...

What we do know is that he is one of the 50 that has applied for the job, as he today told The News as much, not that he is giving much away: 'I have shown interest in the Portsmouth the job.

'But that is as much as I will say at the moment.'

I am not the least bit surprised to hear that Laws is one of the names 'in the hat' to become the next Pompey manager, although like a number of the 'apparent' leading candidates I cannot say that he really excites or appeals to me that much!

That said, with a limited budget, he has a decent track record so someone willing to work with budget constraints is what we will be looking at so maybe someone the likes of Laws is what we need to 'realistically' start accepting as being what we will get?

From the names 'in the mix' at the moment Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, lack of experience or not, is the one that 'excites' and 'inspires' me most of all, but is he realistic?

Only time will tell I guess...

From the others I think I would 'probably' have Mark Robins ahead of Laws, Mark McGhee and Sean O'Driscoll though.

As John Lennon sang "Christ you no it ain't easy". And he's right, as a long standing Pompey supporter, to be associated with names like McGhee and Laws, is totally unacceptable to me. I just hope these are redherrings and our new owners are conspiring to get a decent manager to steer us in the right direction. After the trials and tribulations of the past couple of years, what we need is a decisive decision on a really good guy who will bring back the crowds and get us starting to play some decent football to boot. Not to much to ask is it? Come on CSI get it right.

I have shown interest in the Portsmouth job as well. Doesn't mean diddly squat.

i wonder if csi have considered leaving gw and sg as first team coaches and employing uncle avram as director of football to deal with off field matters and vast connections for transfers/loans etc and the press, also to help tutor gw & sg from coaches to managers,,,,, just a thought

50 applicants??? As many are of low quality does that mean the position is not regarded very highly? And please don't let Avram back in.
