It will be good whatever!

It will be good whatever!

I tell you what, they say 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' and for me this is very much the case!

My time in Corfu is not yet a 'distant memory', at this point it is honestly far from it, but in as much as the fact that I am back to 'reality' and 'the real world' it is - one thing that I can testify to is the fact that whatever has happened back home, and whatever the results were and/or how we played, I really missed the football...

Ask Trina and she will tell you this!

My moods 'changed' somewhat when it came to match day - try as I might to hide this I could not, when it is in the blood it is in the blood.

You try to hide it and make out 'all is ok' but it was not, it was agony not really being able to keep up-to-date with things that well and anything I could latch onto I would. Going to a nearby bar, armed with my Pompey shirt and laptop to catch the final minutes of our win over Blackpool was magical.

The most annoying thing about returning to England, other than leaving behind 2-weeks of blinding weather, was that I had to wait another week before I could get my fix as last weekend was a weekend off due to the 'international break'...

Saturday - whatever the outcome, no matter how good or bad we are, no matter who plays or not and no matter who is in charge - cannot come soon enough for me!

Regardless as to how much I might moan after the game, lets hope moaning is not on the agenda though, it will be good and I cannot wait to return to my 'church' - its been far too long since my last home game, so long I cannot even remember, well I almost cannot remember my last game full stop, surely it was not West Ham away...!

I cannot lie I could get used to that 'lifestyle' of Corfu, or a place like it, but I would do it at the right time of year, or should I say season!

Luckily I have no more brothers that are getting married, perhaps one day my sister will but she will know better than to marry during the football season and if she does I would 'guess' it would be in this country not another, so that is not a concern- as for my own wedding in a couple of years I am not only doing it between seasons I am doing it between international tournaments, no Euro championships or world cup disrupted either...

Bring on The Tykes, surely someone is due a battering, so why not them! Ok, lets just have a win for now but like I say come what may I will just be delighted to have football back - and on that note I really should start get ready to leave, as I soon have a train to catch.

On this day in history...30th May

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 30th May.

No Crawley return for Tubbs

Tubbs doesn't have a future at Pompey, he's on the transfer-list but offloading him could be difficult given his wages. These wouldn't be anywhere within Crawley's reach.

Pitfalls of Sheffield Wednesday loanee returning

As Catlin put it 'the gamble' of aiming sign Sheffield Wednesday loanee Lavery has to be one Pompey fans understand. It isn't as cut and dried as saying 'he's a free agent' sign him!

Lassie coming home...well sort of!

A-box-to-box player, capable of defensive duties, with ability to burst forward with intent to make things happen - Diarra is Pompey's man and wants an England return. I jest of course!
