'If It's Football, It's Vital'

And still we wait...

As seems to be the norm these days for Pompey, with most things that happen, the position of Steve Cotterill continues to drag on with it becoming no clearer as to what actually will happen?

Are sky sports just 'catching up' or do they know something more than other media outlets do with what they now 'understand?'

Like most others have been/are sky sports now understand that 'Steve Cotterill is in pole position for the vacant manager's job at Nottingham Forest.'

This is hardly 'new' news, as BBC sport - and many daily papers - have been saying this for a good 24-hours or so...

Apparently Forest have made an 'official approach' for Cotterill although WOTS tells us that NO official approach has come as yet but it is 'anticipated'.

I still, and I know I keep saying this, find it had to believe that Forest will pay us compensation so this really complicates things. They buckled at the thought of paying Charlton £500,000 for Paul Hart and were reluctant to give MK Dons anything for their talented young manager Karl Robinson - now there is a young up and coming manager who could do something here I reckon!

The rest of my thoughts on things, now and previously, were pretty much shared in an article written yesterday, so you are best of checking that out - End of the line? - here.

Maybe, just maybe though we are finally moving into the endgame of what is happening in the latest PFC drama. As I shared previously, in the link above, at this point in time I can only see one outcome whatever happens...

Although to finish with the report on sky sports ended with the following line, so something to ponder that I would guess will divide opinion: 'the 47-year-old is regarded as one of the best coaches in the country and Forest believe he is the right man to transform their fortunes after a poor start to the season.'

I trust EastneyDave more than Sky Sports and am not sure there is room for Clark AND Cotterill

The News reckons an approach has been made and that our Board's considering it.
PFCblue
oh, i would agre Tony - sky sports and what they 'understand' is hardly reliable...altho i thought forest were lining up clark as director of football with cotterill, or whoever, coming in as manager?
it seems they want the DOF whatever - but a 'pay-off' for hart ended that.
pompeyrug
assuming the news is right and that approach has now come, the fact that the board has to 'consider it' surely says that they are willing to let him go, right?

Cotterill is a poo manager !! Results don't lie

I have been behind Cots since he's been here but the last few games have really turned my opinion! I'm still behind him, pushing him out the door! We have a good squad, but Cots tactics are what looses the games I believe! We all love Kanu but he's a luxury player that should be played when needed! We should have beaten Peterborough because we were all over them, and the only thing they had going for them was pace on the break. So bringing on Kanu is the BIGGEST mistake against them! No wonder Erik scored the own goal, he was the ONLY player on the pitch that could track back fast enough to keep up with the break! No Cots has to go now, and take Kitson with you!

Let's start afresh with our new owners. Clean slate and get someone in who will play with atleast 2 upfront!
moley2
well frank clark has gone back to forest, but as chairman so the managers role is still available - will cotts fill it tho?
pompeyrug
"the 47-year-old is regarded as one of the best coaches in the country" who's that then.....??? :-)
cornypomp
Well, I'm hardly going to feel comfortable on Saturday watching a team playing under a Manager who wants to be off. And WHY, is what I want to know? He has the stability he wanted in our new owners, he has his own team and has carte blanche to do what he wants. Can't believe a few fans giving him a hard time would send him running for an interview with a new club, who, by the way, have even less money than us!
gandor1
He has to go now, the club are staying silent why! if they wanted to keep him, they would have knocked this on the head by now. I for one can't wait to see the back of him and his non managment skills I cant see us geting more than 2 points in the nexted 4 matches if he stays, can I re-do my predictions if he goe's?
